Directv negotiations

Yesterday I had spoken with the retention department. I called back again and spoke with someone that deals with the sports packages. He said as soon as September hits, they take the discounts away, but said to be on the lookout on Saturday and Sunday morning. From his experience they usually offer $50 discounts on those days. Also, according to him, the Sunday Ticket MAX will be free this weekend. So I'll still be able to watch the games from my computer this weekend. So it all works out.

Those mo-fo's weren't budging. I called this AM and got $30 off for the next 3 months.

Dude kept saying "let me see what I can do...no...can't do that. It's not letting me do anything. It's locked me out on any discounts".

I went ahead and got it just because I didn't feel like hassling any further. Lesson from this, if Directv keeps Sunday Ticket...don't wait until September to negotiate. In the past, I did the dance during July. Last year, I got the whole thing: Sunday Ticket Max for $100 bucks.

Oh well, that's life.

I have no idea how you got even that much. I just called back...went straight to the sports upgrade department...and they didn't offer any kind of discount.
