Be cool to fire the owners but it's hard to vet candidates.

And what I don't get is that we hate the majority owners, where the hell are the minority owners with their say. It's not even fully clear who has the final say in the majority ownership but there is a minority share which, at least in normal business, the rest of the board has the power to oust the CEO and President with enough votes.

Woodward, 39, told the team he had discussed the situation with his family and decided he wanted to be closer to his home in Florida.

By every account I've seen, Woodward is seen as a difference maker on the hot track for getting into higher managerial positions.

Seager credits him 100% with the transformation from competent 2B to gold glove winning 3B.

This kind of sucks.

It does. I like him a lot and was hoping they kept him. Maybe he goes to Tampa with rest of our infield.

Didn't realize this, but Bogar was manager of the year three times in the minor leagues. Impressive considering it appears he managed in a variety of organizations.

Ya that is why I was routing for him. Odd that he went with the guy with 0 managing experience.

I didn't know that Woodward lied.

That was my quote above from when he left;

Woodward, 39, told the team he had discussed the situation with his family and decided he wanted to be closer to his home in Florida.

I forgot about that.

Who knows what happened, though.

Maybe he thought he was going to get a job with a team back east, and the Dodgers with their big staffing changes themselves made him an offer he couldn't refuse. I'm sure there's just as much intrigue in the insular world of MLB coaching as there is for players. There's only so many skipper jobs, and Woodward has to have his eye on that.
