LOS ANGELES -- The Detroit Red Wings took forward Todd Bertuzzi off injured reserve today. He could be ready to play against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center (4 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit).

Bertuzzi has missed six games due to swelling in his ear and dizziness.

To make room on the roster, the club placed defenseman Ian White on short-term IR, retroactive to last Sunday. White is out for up to another week with a fractured cheek bone.

Coach Mike Babcock said on Friday that Bertuzzi, if he's ready, would play on a line with Pavel Datsyuk and Johan Franzen.
