Veterans committee elects no one. Baseball voters are strange. Even the greatest players generally only have 8-10 really outstanding seasons, but for some reason you have a better chance if you just hang on and put in 20 years so you can amass a bunch of milestones, even if your last few years are very mediocre. But even then they put some guys with short careers in. Ralph Kiner, Jim Hunter didn't play that long and they are in but Dick Allen and Don Mattingly are out.
