The Diamondbacks, Dodgers, and Orioles are the three finalists to land free agent starter Bronson Arroyo, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today (via Twitter). Among those clubs, the Diamondbacks are "slight favorites" to lock up the soon-to-be 37-year-old.
We heard recently that Arroyo had yet to receive a firm offer, but reported interest has never waned in the durable righty. Another recent report suggested that Arroyo has continued to ask clubs for a third guaranteed year. Arizona, a newer entrant to the chase for Arroyo, is said to be interested in a two-year pact.

Would be a solid addition for Baltimore, which IMO, will be his landing spot.

Baltimore could be putting together a pretty solid team...if only they had remembered to employ a closer...

Orioles main problem seems to be their rotation which looks pretty weak.

THURSDAY: Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that Arroyo's camp has lowered the asking price to the two-year, $22MM range, and the Orioles and Diamondbacks are "definitely pushing" for the veteran righty.
WEDNESDAY, 9:32pm: The D'Backs are "very serious" about signing Arroyo and are planning to meet with him, Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe tweets.

Still think he winds up in Baltimore.

Baltimore needs him more than anyone. They're nuts if they don't land him.

I don't want this guy in the NL West! :hope:

Yesterday, I was guessing that Arroyo could be had for 2 years, $ 20 mil. I am reading today that it will be more like 2 years, $ 22 mil.

He would look good as a # 5 in Dodger Blue.......

Arroyo might prefer the "East Coast" but he's soon going to sign with a "West Coast" team according to a source #Diamondbacks or #Dodgers

So it looks like no Orioles.

Yeah don't want him in Arizona. Chase Field is unforgiving for his type. People would be hitting moonshots off him.

FRIDAY: Jim Bowden of ESPN and MLB Network Radio tweets that Arroyo will end up signing with either the Dodgers or the Diamondbacks.

not sure why u say dammit:suds:

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Diamondbacks have signed Bronson Arroyo.
ESPN's Buster Olney has come through with the details, saying Arroyo will get $19 million for two years, with the D'Backs holding an $11 million option for 2016. There's a $4.5 million buyout attached to the option, so the righty is guaranteed at least $23.5 million. Chase Field isn't the best landing spot for the flyball-prone Arroyo, but neither was Great American Ball Park and he did just fine there. The signing of Arroyo presumably pushes Randall Delgado to the bullpen and also could delay the potential arrival of Archie bradley

It may grow on me but I just thought we could do better then Arroyo. I really wanted AJ Burnett.
