you know you put the laugh on the end of that ..... but that is very true. with his poor route running and bad back ..... I think you hit the nail on the head

hehe, yeah I threw that on there because could you imagine the media storm if Dez came out and said he had been doing yoga all offseason? We would all get trolled to death on this board

First thing I think of when I hear a guy added muscle and got bigger is steroids...I don't think Dez actually said he gained weight though, did he?

No, but typically when you build muscle it also tightens the muscle so it is easier to tear or pull. I have no scientific backing for that other than personal experience. Adding muscle is good, adding too much limits range of motion. If he has really been working on strength in the offeason then it could be an issue.

Or with his back problems maybe that is the area he has focused on and fixes issues that might have been from incorrect weight training in college and early NFL...needed to get back muscles back in balance.

Scout?s Eye: Good Start For Street; A&M RB Has Quickness

Scroll down to training camp video at 20:23 Dez runs by. He's cut and lean #going to have a good year if he stays healthy

Mini Camp live video.

love to hear that about Street, smooth routes. Since he is battling for #3, that is exactly what we need. An inside route runner who can be where Romo expects him to be.

Of course reading that article every rookie is an all-pro. There is some bias in that article :)

I think you have to franchise Bryant. I like Bryant, but am concerned his back issues are going to get worse. So did he gain weight or just add musle? He is already a big and strong receiver

I think Dez gets about $13M/year (5/$65M). That puts him right behind Calvin and Fitz on the highest paid list. Calvin is in a league of his own and Fitz is so incredibly overpaid right now it isn't even funny. He is nowhere near the 2nd best WR in the league, but he still has the players respect so Dez will know he can't get as much as him. Dez is way better than the next 3 guys (Harvin, Wallace and Bowe) so it would be tough to not pay him at least what they get.

Probably better to sign him before Marshall signs, because whichever guy goes 2nd is going to want more than the first guy gets. Dez is making (comparitively speaking) peanuts right now. So if we extend him soon we should be able to keep the salary lower than if we get into a bidding war. If he goes to free agency, then I wouldn't be surprised if Twists prediction of $15M comes true.

Calvin Johnsom got 132,000,000 over 7 years (2 years ago) Just under 19 per
Fitz got 113,000,000 over 7 years (several years ago) Just over 16 per
Brandon Marshall got 40,000,000 for just 3 years. Just over 13 per
Somehow I don't think Dez settles for $65,000,000 over 5 years. I think he goes for the 9 figure deal.

Isnt it crazy to simply look a Calvin Johnsons numbers. I'd be pumped for a while if won the lottery for $100,000. Look at the difference. $100,000 vs. $132,000,000
Thats a lot of numbers.

To put it in perspective... lets say you go to a good law school and get a sweet Lawyer gig at $132,000 a year. It would take you 1000 years to make what Calvin makes. INCREDIBLE!

I had to learn to get over that years ago. Let me make it even more painful: You go to law school and bust your ass, getting top honors so you can land a $250k job. Then you look over and the mouth-breathing neanderthal that can "tackle gud" but can't write the alphabet and realize that even if he is the 4th string LB playing nothing but special teams...he is making at least $400k or whatever the league minimum is now. :L

Hershel Walker used to do yoga & Ballet & I never heard of him pulling groins or hammys.
I would love for all our skill players to be doing either or both.
