Devil's Draft Party/Equipment Sale

Has anyone been to a Devil's equipment sale? How does buying the sticks work? They're not signed are they? I remember reading somewhere that they are all the same price, and it's first come, first serve, but that was a few years ago.

I only went to one draft never bought anything. But I remember a long line first come first serve....problem is they didn't put limits on how many u can buy. So people were buying 20 sticks at a time! So get therr early...this might have changed. Also how stupid is it that the biggest draft in recent year and they have the building booked! So not sure how this will go being at the practice arena

The building has been booked for a while according to TG because people were asking him back in March about a draft party.

Alright I'll bring a couple hundred bucks in cash then. I've got three sticks I need to pickup for myself and my friends.

I'd love to get a Parise or Kovy stick, but I assume they'll be gone, so I'm hoping for a Tedenby.

In case anyone is wondering, I just got an email back from my ticket rep, and they said there will be some sore of limit on maximum amount you can purchase but she wasn't sure. Also, they will be accepting credit.

This is the first year I haven't gone but my wife went again.every year has been a different setup.sticks went up from 50 to 75 dollars.used to have players signing past few years they haven't though.the limit is a good change before the limit the first people in boarded everything.sticks I got include Clarkson,Elias,white,rolston,Martin,Pandolfo,madden,salmela and zajac.gloves I got include Clarkson,gionta,pelley and white and skates I got include white and langenbrunner.

Unfortunately, I thought that an hour early would be enough time to get in line. I was wrong. I don't have season tickets, and unfortunately the 4/person thing doesn't save you from a family of 5 walking out with 20 sticks. By the time I got inside all the sticks were laying along the boards. Only ones left were White and Rolston + a few Pelleys. And they were all over the place, and most weren't taped so I figured they were never used.

I did get a poster of the '95 cup celebration that I immediately took outside and got Daneyko and Driver to sign. So not too bad a deal. Poster was only $5.

Also, the way they arrange the sticks just doesn't work. They had them all leaning against the boards, and by the time I was inside they were all on the ground + they deliberately don't arrange them by player, which is stupid. They only let in like 20 people at a time so it's not like spreading out the Kovy sticks is going to save some for the people in the back.

Also, the weather really put a damper on the draft party. I drove home and watched on TV because of the rain. They should have put a screen in the practice facility and let the fans watch from the stands. I guess that's how it would have worked if we were in the rock.

There had to be at least 3,000 people that were in line for the equipment sale. They did have a giant screen setup, but it was outside on the street where they were signing autographs, and had the kids playing street hockey and the band.

Also, Vanderbeek was outside talking to literally anyone. He was basically one of us at the event. pretty cool.

I was waiting in line so I couldn't talk to him, but he must have talked to something like 100 people over the course of about 20-30 minutes while I was within sight of him. I hope he can either find the money himself to buy that minority share, OR finds a nice quiet investor.
