Here's the injury report as of yesterday afternoon:
Injury report: Franzen (hip), Colaiacovo (shoulder), Pavel Datsyuk (shoulder), Mikael Samuelsson (groin), Jonas Gustavsson (groin) are day-to-day for Detroit. Bertuzzi is out indefinitely with a back injury, as is Darren Helm. Brendan Smith is nursing a shoulder injury. … For the Wild, Justin Falk (illness), Pierre-Marc Bouchard (illness) and Cal Clutterbuck (eye) are day-to-day.
The Wings have only lost 4 times in the last 15 visits to Minnesota, one of those being beyond regulation, but this Wild team is a much different one from that of last season. Let's hope that the turnover machine that existed last game (3 for Big E, 2 for White, and, even though the chart people for our last game must have been out for a coffee break while play had resumed, Mr. All-World (supposedly) Kronwall had 2, one of which led to a 2-on-0 entry and an easy scoring opportunity on Howard. How they missed that one, says something about their thoroughness in charting these games. i saw obvious similar statistical mistakes in about 4 games last season also; one of the reasons why I don't put too much weight on their statistical listings.
Go, Wings, we need this one. Better get the higher octane juice, especially until the wounded are sent back from the M.A.S.H. unit.
Hey, Pavel, keep rubbing the horse linament on that bruised shoulder, you're greatly missed out there.
