Like my Fireteam always says: this will be the best game ever...next year. We're just playing around with one helluva Beta.

Bungie tried to do something truly unique and ultimately failed at a lot of things but succeeded in some things really well.

I do think that Destiny 1.5 will be that much better.

I ground down about 2 weeks ago. The 1.1.1 patch was really good in balancing the weapons although Shotguns are a little too strong before the endgame but that doesn't matter a whole lot. I think Inferno is a step back from normal control...it makes the game even more of a twitch game like CoD. If thats your style, though, I can see it as a bonus.

I'm currently playing Guilty Gear Xrd and waiting for the next Dragon Age sale

I hit 2700 Grimscore last night with the help of getting my 50th VoG clear. I have over 100 raid completions but apparently they were glitched until the last patch. I certainly don't play as much as I used to, now I typically log on before I go to bed and do bounties to rank up whatever guns I'm working on, and to level up New Monarchy cause I want those shaders and ships.

I've been playing crota's end a lot recently, trying to get some of the weapons as I basically ignored that raid for the first two months it was out. Got the raid helmet for my hunter last night, it's pretty nice. Still do the nightfalls each week and it sounds like iron banner will be back next week, so I'll probably play that a little bit. But yeah, aside from that there's really not much to do until HoW releases.

Hell yeah. I'm not that good with the sword so I haven't attempted anything like that, I have soloed the raid on hard up until the deathsinger. I shoot a Gjallarhorn on my raid team, so I never get to use the sword. I need to get a normal check point though and practice with it.

Wow, anyone read that TTK interview with Luke Smith. What a fucking prick! Bungie has royally screwed the pooch with this new release and the stupid ass pricing, and then they roll this guy out and not only piss off everyone outside the US but he's an arrogant asshat that actually says "when you see the emotes, you will literally throw money at the screen". What an asshat.

My big beef with HoW is that all of the best Titan exotics and Weapons are from the core game (except the Vestian Dynasty and you get that after dropping an hour into the story). If you're a Titan, you have no carrots at all to chase after and Titans are the worst in PVP. I basically just dropped the class Ive put the most time into after HoW came out.

They're also idiots for rebalancing all of the weapons and then releasing their competitive multiplayer Trials of Osiris. The weapon that half of the players use in the competitive format wasnt on their radar but the weapons they were worried about have been nerfed to oblivion.

HoW did get the loot system right finally and it effectively tripled the rotating endgame content by having the Weekly be different than the Nightfall and having Prison of Elders on a rotating schedule, too.

Bungie is probably going to get too much flack from the interview. Activision has likely been setting the price. Activision likely tied down the potential of the game by having it dumbed down for PS3s and 360s. Activision likely set up that stupid Playstation exclusive contract which is keeping content out of RNG and out of rotating weekly events. Bungie's problem is ego. They nerfed Auto Rifles and Fusion Rifles with little to no basis other than data mining their popularity. Now you have half the player base just using Thorn in PVP and Fatebringer in PVE and ignoring most of the new weapons.

The new DLC is 3 subclasses, a Raid, and a new PVP mode Rift with a lot of yadda yadda yadda. $40 price tag is a bit steep unless they introduce a lot of cool new carrots.

My understanding is that the next release is more than just a DLC release. More like a full point release it will a year 2 release of the game.

I would rather spend $40 and have a lot more content than get another $10 DLC pack that will have a few more maps bolted onto the same game.

Yeah, the Taken King is supposed to expand the universe. Effectively its going to be adding a new World to the mix which means at least a 25% add-on in terms of size of the universe. The subclasses represent a 50% increase to playable character types and the new Raid represents a 50% increase in Raids. The loot system and story will likely make or break the game.

My gut feeling is that they are going to make all of the non-exotic weapons and armor obsolete outside of the Crucible. I think there are certain perks on certain weapons that they'd like to see vanish (Final Round Snipers, Machine Guns with massive magazines, etc)

I'm not spending another dime on this game. The most recent expansion brought me back to the game for like a day. I beat the extra content they put in, played the strike a couple times and still wasn't able to play the raid because I don't have 5 fucking other people playing the same game on the same system to play with.

But I agree, not getting The Taken King.... $40 for an expansion? No thanks... Battlefront, Halo 5, etc are coming out soon. I'll spend the extra $20 to get either of those instead.

I totally got my $60 out of the core game and $30 out of the expansions. The game has improved vastly over the past year.

The Taken King is overpriced by about $10. There really isn't any other way to spin that. Most people should wait a few months until buying to see if they throw a discount in there. Both raids were a mess at the start and had to patched a bit to where they were worth playing.
