DeSean Jackson of Philadelphia Eagles says he deserves a raise - ESPN

He is due over 10 million for this upcoming season and has only completed two years of his current five-year contract. This is why you don't give in to players that want to renegotiate their contracts. Because it lets them think they can do it at will against you. I really wish I was that GM and was able to politely remind him that he agreed to the terms of this previous contract and if he doesn't want to honor it then he will only be hurting himself as well as him teammates

What a tool. Jackson has zero leverage. The only thing Jackson can gain is making himself look like an asshole.

If he thinks he deserves more, then what does Shady McCoy deserve? The Keys to the vault? McCoy is far more important to the Eagles success than Jackson will ever be. Stupid greed. This will bite him in the ass.

"To clarify any info that all people got twisted up!! I didn't ask for a new contract," Jackson posted on the account. "Don't listen to mixed words I didn't say ... Tired of dumb info being twisted to what I didn't say word up !! The question was brought to me I didn't bring it up !!"

I'm sure that if everyone here was asked if they deserved or wanted à raise they would say no.

Remember the Adam Sandler version of "Mr. Deeds"?

The player said he deserved a raise since he played better than expected.

Adam said, "OK, fair enough. If you play worse can we take money away"?

And of course the player said no.

well, reading his quotes, it sounds as if he was already thinking about asking for a raise just 2 years into his contract.

having said that, he IS making less than Bowe, Wallace, and Harvin, so maybe he IS underpaid.

DeSean had a great year but $10m is around what he is worth. I don't know what he thinks he deserves.

Well the Eagles better be prepared for a down year next season since he will be worried about his contract. Really this guy had a couple good years, had all the contract drama a couple seasons ago and kinda disappeared and then came back with a year this season. Eh........

As long as teams can cut players, I'm for players balking at bad contracts as well....In this deal, he just got a weak bonus when you look at the contracts that are being signed now.
