  • Played his full nine year career in the American League
  • Was a 1983 ROY and All-Star, when he hit 35 home runs, which set the club record for home runs for a rookie for his team
  • 22nd all time in AB/HR among players with a minimum of 3000 PA
  • Decent power, but was awful at getting on base (.306 career OBP)
  • Teammates with Fisk, Harold Baines, Dave Winfield, and Joe Carter

  • Second player (Delahanty was the first) to hit over .400 two times in a career
  • In 1901 he led the National League in batting average (.376), OBP (.440), hits (226), and runs scored (142)

Jesse (The Crab) Burkett. He was one of the worst fielders ever! Besides hitting inside the park homeruns, he also hit a lot of triples!
