Dammit, I was just rifling through this thread hoping to not see "Boomer" and you guys totally fucked up my glory!!!!!

OK, I have one.
Was the minor league player of the year two years running as a teenager, but still had to wait one more year after that to be brought up for good because his GM believed that all players should have a full year in AAA. Was considered a failure for hitting ~.270ish with midrange power and not being very good at 2B and traded away when he was 24. Ended up hitting over .340 as a 1Bman with his second team after that trade, but was still done as a starter by age 31. Led the league in doubles one year with 40 and had a total of exactly 300 of them for his career.

I have no clue of era he played in so I'm just going to start throwing shit at the wall and hope something sticks
