I live again
I love how people don't actually look closely at his name.
There is looking, and then, there is seeing.
I honestly think it is a mind/brain trick. But, I know what you are going for here.

sucks because if he wasnt so old and frail, he'd have passed noted slap hitter dave kingman

At least he has more home runs than prolific sluggers such as Juan Pierre, Reggie Willits, and Ichiro Suzuki (he could have hit 30+... if he wanted to).
Of course. Why wouldn't I? Then again, I don't really "discuss" him getting to 4000 hits, so....does the plate appearance argument also count when you guys discuss him getting to 4000 hits, or does it only to his negative stats?
On message boards, there's no truer sign that someone has lost an argument than if they attack another poster's screenname or avatar. There is looking, and then, there is seeing.

Your resentment for people who have no affect on your life is truly a sight to behold, in a sad, sad way. This thread is growing increasingly uncomfortable/unpopular with Yankees with every game.
Reminds me of when Pujols was in his prime and I had movement every time he struck out and jizzed everytime he grounded into an inning-ending DP.
6 SB per year? You might want to check your math on that.So Jeter averages 6 SB a year throughout his career. LOL "A threat on the base paths"
FYI: He is also 13th all-time in runs scores - and he just cracked the top 100 all-time in bases on balls. He's also in the top 200 all-time OBP and 112th in stolen bases....
So, he's doing more than striking out.
Imagine his stats if he weren't forced to lead-off every year?

He averages 22 per 162 games.
scored a lot of runs on home runs by sheffield, arod, cano, giambi, oneill, etc

Who ever suggested Jeter was better than Gwynn? I don't understand the point of the comparison. One was a shortstop who hit leadoff in a hitter's park. The other was a corner outfielder who hit 3rd in a pitcher's park. Of course Jeter is going to score more runs. I don't understand the point of the comparison.Oh good for Jeter 22 per 162 games.
Tony Gwynn stole 319 bases. Gwynn was a supreme hitter compared to Jeter. Why didnt Tony score as many runs as him? I already have the answer to that one.
