Just watched a video from practice today and of course the video happens to be DT working on come back routes where he actually finishes off the route coming back to the ball. I'm thinking the coaches sat him down and showed him the tape and told him "this is unacceptable. You have to help your young QB out and come back and get that ball." My guess is he is honestly used to Peyton where he is usually turning around and the ball is right there. Osweiler doesn't quite have that type of timing down with him so that half second that it isn't being released is just not fitting well with DT. He is just not used to having to come back a ton because of the timing. I would say same thing with the End Zone throw in he is probably used to Peyton putting a little more air on the pass where he then finds the ball and goes and gets it instead of a rocket pass to get it in to a tight window. Just have to work on the timing and understanding of what each expects.
I sure hope they looked at that with DT. But they will get that timing down and when they do our offense is all the more dangerous. You can see Brock has the timing down with players like Caldwell and Latimer who he has been working with in practices...now the real issue is how to tip-toe around the Peyton in the room

I really have a hard time thinking Manning gets job back even if healthy. The team runs much more smooth and efficient when Qb is behind center and lets face it, Manning can`t do it very well. I see scenario where maybe Manning gets start wk 15 ( if 100% healthy ),let him hopefully get win for record and then start Oz week 16 to get ready for playoffs. Now if Oz were to go down, then that changes everything and Broncos will have to go back to pistol/shotgun and the offense and run game will suffer again and Denver goes out early. Manning needs to wake up and smell reality and think of team first and be the best Backup/ support cast Qb he can be for this team and let team know that Oz is the man and he will support him. All speculation could prove unfounded if Manning never sees field again. Their already trying out other Qbs so it stands to chance they don`t think they have three Qbs available as it stands today. Meaning they are looking at Manning as not even a back up because of his health going forward. IMO of course Lady and Gentlemen :)

Honestly what amazes me is how many in the media keep saying it is still Manning's job when he is healthy. Heck a lot of ex-players keep saying it. Part of me thinks that is mostly because all of them eventually were replaced by somebody younger and more talented than them so they want to believe the old guy will still get his chance at glory. I guess to me at this point unless Osweiler just really falls apart at the seam I just can't see how you can give the job back to Manning. I mean the whole excuse the first 7 weeks of why he couldn't lose his job was because the team was winning. Well they stopped winning with him in. Now we are winning with Brock so not sure how you can use the one excuse for Manning but then it not apply to Brock.

Ive been thinking the same. What blows me away is when they say it so casually like its a forgone conclusion and just a matter of when it happens. I have been thinking all year (even while we were winning in spite of Manning) that if our QB was anyone else we would have benched him in a hurry.

Now on the flip side of things it gets interesting from Manning's perspective. I can't imagine he feels like he can't play anymore and if the broncos do go the route most of us seem to hope for then what does he do? Does he retire after this year with the rough end to his career or does he play one more year elsewhere? Hell maybe he even goes back to Indy until they get the Luck situation all figured out...Just something to ponder

It's so typical that national pundits are so far behind those of us who follow our team locally. I suppose since they cover the whole country, it's harder to stay in tune with where things are headed. There is zero chance the Broncos go back to Manning unless Brock gets injured or has a total collapse. Go Broncos! Go OZ!

So with 2 straight games of great rushing our team has gone from 29th in the NFL to 17th overall in rush yards per game.

I'm glad the Chargers won last week. Even though they're a bad team, it would make me a little nervous playing a team on a long losing streak. You never know when they're finally gonna play that 1 big game. So they got their win out of the way last week. I expect Denver to ROLL this week. Should be a blowout. Von Miller and company will make it a very difficult game for Rivers. Rivers will cry and whine to the officials like he always does, but they won't save him.

So if they can continue at same pace for 2 more weeks.....they can possibly be ranked 5th :)

I got Denver to lose by over a 100 points .. only a miracle will save us is that stud QB from SD is going to make our team look like a mud fence

All joking aside I am always scared to death of all AFCW teams even when they suck ! It has always been that way for me ! this is there SB and they will play like it I am sure ! I just want to win .. that is it ....lol

I somewhat agree. I will say I did listen a bit to some Chargers fans on the radio yesterday and honestly that whole fan base is completely beat down right now. I mean they are having one of the worst seasons in recent memory on top of the fact that this might be the last year the team is in San Diego. They seem much more focused on the fact the team might be leaving than the fact that they are playing a division rival this Sunday. They don't even want to talk about the game.

Also just looking at their ticket sales I think the fans have shown they just are not happy with this team and have stopped showing up. It really would not surprise me to see more Bronco fans at the actual game. Now having said that you are right any division game is always one you have to watch out for no matter how terrible they are. Heck in 2010 when we had our worst season of the year we still beat the Chiefs who won the division at 10-6. That was the famous bad handshake between McDaniels and Haley. So yeah always have to be ready. Thankfully I do think our team has got a nice 2nd wind with Osweiler coming in. He brings an energy that was lacking for a bit this season.

Injury update. Peyton Manning, TJ Ward, Sly Williams, and DeMarcus Ware will be out this week. Ware is the only one traveling with the team as they do want him to do his pregame warm up and see how he is feeling. They are being very cautious with Ware though as they know obviously playoffs mean much more than a regular season game.

For the Chargers they are in some deep trouble on the OL.

Fluker and Dunlap are both out for this game. When you throw in both Corey Liuget and Jerry Attaochu are both listed as questionable in the equation they could definitely be in some trouble on the defensive side of the ball as well.

As for the game itself. I've watched a couple of Chargers games and here is what i have noticed. I will be honest and say I have nothing but respect for Rivers and what he is doing this year. His OL and WR core are down right terrible yet he has somehow found a way to put up great numbers this year. I honestly would say this is some of his best work of his career. I mean if his team had a defense at all we would honestly be talking about Rivers for possible MVP this year.

What we have to watch for...Because the WR core is so far gone and the OL is destroyed essentially Rivers is living on throwing to the RB's and TE's. I would say for this game put Talib and Harris in 1-on-1 coverage the entire game and tell them they have to go out and dominate. I then flood the middle of the field with everybody else to stop the TE's and RB's from getting loose.

Defensively the Chargers are a mess. They can't stop the run game. They have to blitz to get any kind of pass rush. Pass coverage wise they are not too bad at the Corner spot but really I would expect Owen Daniels/Vernon Davis and whoever we have playing in the slot to have a big game over the middle. Honestly for this game the Chargers just do not line up personnel wise to stop us on defense or offense. Their greatest weaknesses are some of our greatest strengths. That means they have to bring in extra guys to try and contain us.

Special Teams wise well they just fired their coach. They have had something like 34 total yards on punt returns for the entire year. They honestly have a bottom-5 Special Teams unit.

now this is a divisional game so always have to bring our A game but I do think the Broncos will sweep the Chargers this year. They just are not even close to the same team they have been in the past.

I might be a tad off on this but I heard that in terms of "parody" in the NFL,this season is at the top or close too, the amount of games decided by 7 pts or less up to this point since the merger I believe. Now I could have not caught the whole segment on the program but pretty sure that was the gist. It helps knowing that everyone else is having close games throughout the league this yr so don`t expect blow-outs as much anymore. On paper Denver should kill SD but I guess teams aren't getting the memo this year when their supposed to get trashed. :)

If I was coaching the Broncos (and you all would be happy to know - that I am not) -I would have them approach this game like target practice - challenge the run game to play up to their capabilities - and the pass rush to be relentless - both the run game and the pass rush are the skill sets that set up the rest of what the Broncos do. it's time to show the league - who is getting ready for the playoffs and who isn't.

I'm really wanting to see this team come out firing. This whole year we have struggled to start out fast and it has honestly limited our pass rush from being able to take advantage. Now they have still done a great job with playing such close games but I would love to see them just be able to pin their ears back and have Rivers just tapping out midway through the 3rd quarter.

And the year before - when it was the great comeback that launched a great season.
