Great read Mingo. Denver is so fortunate for Elway because he is able to see how valuable guys like Ware are to a team. I was thinking same thing ( the D could very well be even better this year ) few days ago. If the heart and desire is there, they can be and Ware will be big reason why.

I remember when Elway came to town something he talked a lot about was getting the right atmosphere in the locker room. He said that is an underrated part of building a team is getting a team to unite and play for one another. Just hearing the stories from this past year of how Miller would have weekly get meals at his house and devoted one area of his house to a place where players could come and relax together. Love hearing those things and why I hope the Broncos don't wait until the Franchise Tag deadline to get a deal done with Von. We need him working in this locker room with all the young guys instead of out with Manziel.

The D could be better this year, but we were pretty lucky with injuries on that side of the ball...

We need to better run the ball and convert third downs. What our d did last year is remarkable considering the poor situations our offense consistently put them in

I would say luck had a bit to do with it but I would say our depth had much more to do with the fact that they stayed so healthy. We could rotate guys in very easily without missing much of a beat. Depth took a bit of a blow losing 3 key guys in Malik, Bruton, and Trevathan. Have to see how some of the young guys step up and if any rookies can rise to the occasion.

I am not worried about ILB tbh. I really like Todd Davis and i think Nelson/Anderson are solid.

Would love to bring in a safety early but not reach... moving Kayvon to S makes sense. Also I know Roby has been listed as safety before, so using him there in base packages is something we could look into.

We have a lot of questionables on the dline. Lots of solid guys, not much flash. Would love to add depth and talent there early and often. Even if its just a guy who is rotational (most dline is rotational these days).

I agree. I do like our options at ILB but right now that is more projecting that they will be successful compared to them having shown in on the field. Davis showed some flashes but needs some major work in coverage. So could still use at least some depth to add competition. Probably a late round player. Broncos seem to have had good/great success finding ILB talent late in the draft.

Safety is honestly the position I think the Broncos could go in the 1st and surprise some people. Karl Joseph just fits this defense too perfectly. I would probably rather move Webster to safety this off season though and see what he can do than to use our 1st on the pick. Not sure the Broncos go that direction though.

And yes of course DL needs at least more depth added to the group. I do like the signings for the DL this season as they are a nice mix of potential/proven players. I still keep thinking Anunike could be the Shaq Barrett of this year that really surprises people. Love what I saw before his injury last year.

I worry about Anunike... not many come back the same after microfracture surgery. Also I don't trust phil taylor and his knees. I like Crisk a lot and I like Walker. Also the athleticism from Kilgo given his size is intriguing. Would love to add a guy who is quick enough to play 5 tech, but strong enough to play some nose as well. Hence why i love butler and jones so much. Both can play both positions, really adding depth across the entire dline with a single pick.

Also Willie Henry is another guy I love

As for Ilb, i have been scouring the interwebs for deep talent there, and I have to say... Montese Williams is a guy I love. Needs to develop more in coverage, but the man can move and has instincts. Would be a special teams contributor year 1

Oh I agree the injuries to those guys worry me. For one season though maybe just maybe they can stay healthy enough to contribute. I also like what Kilgo can do year 2. He really impressed me as a rookie in his limited opportunities. A full off season now with the team maybe we see a true gem emerge. Like you though I do want to add to this group. Competition is definitely needed.

What I do love though is right now the Broncos have at least decent prospects at every position on the team. They don't have to reach and they don't have to get a guy they depend on day 1 to be a star. They can let the player develop. If they contribute as a rookie then all the more for the team.

Jackson was 275 when we drafted him He did all you are talking . Difference is Jackson always flowed to the football something those guys you talk of really don't they are 5 steps and breathing hard as hell very little trailing the football ..
