high risk/high reward.

I recall him having a helluva game that last time the skins played the cowgurls.

Considering he was willing to restructure his contract to help us out with our salary cap issues, I take issue with fans throwing him under the buss ... especially considering he has matched the offense in scoring during the first half in the first 4 games.

Definitly agree with you, he's having a good year so far. He just needs to keep his head in the game.

DeAngelo Hall is the most up and down player that I have seen in the NFL. In one game, he looks like an elite CB. Then, the next, he looks like a scrub. He's been like that his whole career. I must say that I've been impressed with his play, this season. I loved how he contained Megatron. I surely expected he'd have a 250 yard day or something. That pick-six he had against him was a beauty. That whole play was good. We all know that he's a threat, when he has the ball. Moving forward, I am not sure about him for next year. I do know I like what I see in David Amerson. He's going to be a player. We'll just have to see how things play out.

Dont forget most cornerbacks in this league play with teamates in the secondary other teams call "safeties." The "safeties" are suppose to help out the cornerbacks.

We're quick to remember the guy who gets beat for the TD, but forget the name of the guy who didn't help him out in coverage.

Not just help him out but frequently he becomes the safeties responsibility.

Hall sucks.

Sorry, but he does.

He has sucked less this year than in previous years, but he still sucks.

Too slow, bad angles, too much of a gambler, poor technique.

The sooner Amerson can take his place, the better.

Get over it already. Most of the secondary has played pretty bad, but you have to do the best you can. I think that Brock said it best in another thread. This team has been through two offseasons with very little available cap space. Why would anyone expect great improvement under those conditions?

Given the constraints - I salute guys like Doughty and Hall since they are basically doing their best & keeping their mouths shut for the most part. Remember - Hall agreed to stay in DC for considerably less money.

I would expect things to get much better for the secondary next season (and maybe for the balance of this season) when they have more options. Oh well. Nice to see that you give absolutely no credit to Hall for some of the very big plays that he has made this season. As long as he is on the team I will root for him.

I agree that Hall has made some plays this year, and generally speaking has played well..Seems like he steps up his game when he is paying the "big name" receivers....I'm hopeful he dies ti again against Bryant like he did last year...

However, giving him credit for taking less money to stay.......UM....We released him outright....We all know he was looking for more money out there...He didnt get the big money, we were division champs, with a team that looked good, and he resigned for what he could get....May have given the Skins a hometown discount...but it wasnt a big one!!!

I am willing to bet that he could have made more money elsewhere. No - it would not have been similar to his big $$ contract from last season, but I am guessing it could have been much more than he is making (if all he cared about was $$).

The guy has been inconsistent, has tackling issues & can run his mouth a bit at times. However - he does appear to love the game of football & has been one of the Skins major playmakers over the years. I respect that. Once they have $$ to get players they can part ways. However - for now - he is one of their best options in the secondary since that area is pretty thin right now.

Pretty much agree with that...I'm sure he gave the Skins a discount...but I would also bet, he wasnt offered a whole heckof alot more elsewhere

Get over it?

Just calling it like I see it - Hall sucks. the end.

Why should he get credit for signing with the redskins for less money? Do you think teams were clamoring to sign him? That must be why he went unsigned for practically the entire free agent period before signing with the redskins.

Brock is right though: the redskins were hamstrung by that asshole Mara and his bullshit rules police nonsense. Next year will be better. And you better believe I'm thoroughly enjoying the giants being winless....

Well..if Hall sucks, then the rest of our secondary....well I won't finish what I was gonna say...

The rest of our secondary sucks too.

The again, like Brock said, the Redskins did just about everything they could to shore it up this year: amerson, Thomas, Rambo, hall, biggers, - what else could they do?

Like some previous poster said, next year they'll get more pieces in place and be better.

It's all good, lol. He really does seem to be much more team (vs me) oriented this year than we've seen in the past. Really good to see and I'm really glad hes having such a great year. It's amazing how many interceptions and big plays he's been involved in this year. A bright spot for us definitly.
