So, Darren McKee comes on the Toucher and Rich show up here sometimes and he came on earlier today. I wasn't listening, but my wife heard some of it while she was driving to work. Basically the guy put Manning on blast. He said that Manning has no friends on the team. Then he went on to ball wash Brady for a while. I don't live near Denver, so I don't know this guy's show, but does he come off as an assclown like he did today on the Sports Hub?

Holy shit! at that McKee guy. He sounds like a giant douchebag.

He speaks like a teenage girl too. Paraphrasing: Peyton Manning is SOOOO UNPOPULAR. He, like, totally has no friends on the team. :pound:

I don't think I've ever heard or read anybody sound so unprofessional in all of my years following sports. :lame:

Anyways, I hope there isn't much truth to that drivel.

I read an article on Deadspin that somebody made a bet with him after Baltimore knocked Denver out of the playoffs that the Ravens wouldn't make it to the playoffs the next year. Apparently McKee was talking up Flacco and saying he'd rather have Flacco than Manning, so the kid tweeted that he bet McKee $100 that the Ravens wouldn't make the playoffs. When they officially got eliminated, the kid tried to collect on his bet and McKee ignored him. Ignored his texts to the show, his tweets, his e-mails, etc. So he sent a letter to Deadspin and then he finally got his money and McKee invited him onto his show.

What a POS. I was offended that he brought Brady into this spiel.
These are 2 of the all time greats. Badmouthing one over the other is wrong and ignorant.
I admit, I have done it myself. It was fair game when the rivalry was in it's prime but now that they are both declining, time for real fans to enjoy this piece of history.....

Cannot wait for Brady to retire so these types of Pats fans come on back down to earth. They will predictably point out Matt Cassell went 11-5 in 2008.

Well, we remember after Elway the Broncos going 11-5 in 2000 with Griese. We remember Plummer leading the team to the play offs several times, including a win over the Pats in 2005.

We will see what a genius Belichick is after he is gone.

What we do know is Belichick failed in Cleveland, went 5-11 with the Pats and Bledsoe and were off to an 0-2 start in 2001 before Mo Lewis changed the NFL by injuring Bledsoe.

The rest as they say, is history.

Just cannot wait for these types to suffer when Brady retires.

McKee is known as D-Mac here in Denver. He hosts a daily show called The Drive with Big Alfred Williams (former Bronco) on 104.3 The Fan. It's a very popular show in Denver but D-Mac is well known as a blowhard and he loves to stir up controversy. Recently he has made his mark by being the reporter that asked Von Miller if he loves to smoke pot, he has put Manning on the spot several times and yesterday he was trying to hurl "tough" questions at Elway. He always plays back his questions and answers from Dove Valley on the show.

D-Mac hails from New England and often has his father (Peter McKee) as a phone in guest on the show to talk about the Patriots. We get a ton of Patriots related talk on his show because of his background.

Most people in Denver don't really like him but their show gets very high ratings.

Is it because there is no other sports talk or because people listen to him in the same way they listen to Rush Limbaugh, for the controversial talk? Does Alfred Williams even like this guy? I just wonder how he gets high ratings and doesn't even have a wikipedia page.

Not sure if I have the answers to your questions. I think they get high ratings since they have the coveted 3:00 to 6:00 rush-hour drive time slot. For many years, 104.3 The Fan was really the only sports talk radio game in town. In the last couple of years, alternative stations have been added in the market. I have no idea if Big Al likes D-Mac but they've been working together for about 5 years now.

The Broncos went 6-10 the year after Elway retired. And, they replaced Griese with Jake Plummer, and Plummer with Jay Cutler.

As for Belichick, he led the Browns to a 11-5 record in 1994.

Making Brady out to be a savior and Belichick out to be along for the ride is inaccurate. Brady would only be what he is today with the Patriots, and that's it.

Also, Cassel hadn't started since high school, and he had better stats than Brady did in 2001, his first year.

This McKee dude is a total doucher. Never heard of him before this.

I totally agree. He should go back to Boston for good, and Nate Lundy should join Big Al on The Drive. D-Mac pisses me off from time to time. He is an overly conservative arrogant jerk.

I actually agree I think the Patriots if they have Belichick will still compete most years. It might not be as foregone a conclusion that they will make the playoffs every year but BB is one of the great tactical guys of the NFL. He in my opinion is worth 2-3 wins just by himself a year for any team. Now we shall see what the NFL does though punishment wise with this whole deflategate thing.

Some of that though will depend on what happens at the quarterback position. Hopefully they do not have the Indy situation where they go from Manning to Luck. I actually do think the guy they got right now is a decent prospect.

As for D-Mac I just about can't stand to listen to their show because of him. Big Al at least knows his stuff when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. Sometimes when he gets talking about offense I start laughing as he just doesn't make much sense but defensively he really is pretty on the nose with. I do with they would put Nate Lundy with him as I think they would make a great team.

I have met D-Smack many times. His job is to be bad cop. Could care less what ANY media clown says, they have a job to do and that's ratings. Manning is one of the best practical jokers on the team and he is a funny guy in the room. It's amazing how many "Bronco fans" come out of the woodwork when the team doesn't meat expectations. In this era of Americana it never ceases to amaze me how quick we are to blame / believe the worst and turn our backs on the team we supposedly "like / love". FU bandwagon Bronco fans, take a long walk off a short plank......

I think what people fail to remember is that Brady nearly doubled his career high single season TD mark when Randy Moss and Wes Welker came along. Matt Cassel benefited greatly from having those two.

And, yes, Belichick had a single 11-5 record with the Browns. That was sandwiched in between 4 losing seasons.

I think the league will owe the Patriots a draft pick for the bad rap they have gotten. The Pats are not guilty of anything but the league has much on their hands.....
