In the 2 games the Sox won the Dodgers scored 2 runs and 1 run. So you think Kershaw and Greinke and Nolasco would have shut them out three games in a row?

They would have swept the series. And I don't think even the biggest Sox fan would argue too vehemently at that. No one can beat the Dodgers in a 7-game series.

I don't want the pitchers to be the reason we beat them. I want it to be due to their former players.

The awesome epic meltdowns would be classic.

Assuming Greinke doesn't have a panic attack and cost the Dodgers 2 games?

carl crawford is a fraud and a bitch

i have nothign against Agon

or Punto or Beckett

No arguments from me. I will always love Adrian and hope he stays in LA. And if he decides to play one season too long, he can always come back to the Pads. :D

Huh?

You sent your best pitchers in the series but they didn't. And they still beat you!

In a playoff series, they lose one only because they sacrifice a game and let Ryu pitch to give Kershaw an extra day of rest. They were wise in not showing you Kershaw or Greinke during the regular season.

LOL

reach much?

Kershaw pitched the day before the Sox series, genius

Ryu has a sub 3 era, no? Sox scored four off him the first inning

Nolasco shut them out

give credit where due, Sox outpitched them

Fordman is here. Cue Sake with his "Hammar shows up and Fordman comes running" routine in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

He sure as hell will when Misko shows up.

BTW: "Hammar" is a registered trademark. Expect a missive from my shrill feminist attorney.

He's a dangerous weapon. Protect your best hitter and be prepared for suspensions when he melts down and throws at someone.

Okay, third time Worrld: You sent your best pitchers in the series but they didn't.

In a playoff series, you get Kershaw, Greinke, Nolasco, Ryu.

You lose.

Dodgers would be favored in that series facing the Sox, no question

Better living through modern medicine/chemistry. I think he has a handle on that issue now.

I forgot about that performance by Peavy. I don't think anyone was expecting that.

Honest question: Where does he fit in your playoff rotation and what do you expect from him?

depends on Buchholz if he is stretched out enough and effective, one more rehab start tomorrow

lester has 1.7 era last six starts, lackey has been money all year long (despite record), so has doubrount (mostly)

but how do you not put Peavy in the rotation?

good problem to have, but I have no idea right now

Not many gave the Giants a chance against Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Anibal, Miggy, Prince & Co last year.

Verlander shit the bed (again) in the playoffs, and it was the Giants pitchers who were beasts (again).

What the Sox staff lacks in overall talent versus the Dodgers staff, they make up for in playoff experience. A staff of Lester, Peavy, Buchholz, and Lackey ain't chopped liver.

The only guy I fear is Kershaw, and not just because of how good he is. He can neutralize the Sox speed (Ellsbury) and power (Ortiz) because both are lefties.
