Not ruling out the Raiders. New Davis same as the old Davis! Pryor had an erratic arm at OSU and don't see him getting more accurate. I just think Flynn parleyed that game against the Lions into a huge payday and when that contract is over he will disappear.

As for the Yankees they will make the playoffs if for no other reason than to piss half the country off. The east coast loving sports shows will fluff the Yankees and Red Sox and cry like bitches if they don't get a playoff series against each other!

I can only imagine Tim Kurkjian's Mariano and Jeter one-liners if the Yankees make it in.

IMO, you have the former player in the booth to give the feel of the game. And, when you are now 33 years past your playing days, you no longer have a good handle on the feel of the game. As such, I think all former player announcers have a shelf life. Some long, some short. Or, for Tim, WAAY too long.

McCarver's schtick works for a local broadcast but it's hard to get a national audience to give a rat's ass about him.

The high light I best remember is when Deion Sanders poured water on him.
