BUST 2ND ROUNDERS:

2008 Wheatley -- 2009 Brace, Butler, Chung(not a complete waste) -- 2010 Cunningham -- 2011 Ras-I -- 2012 Tavon Wilson

The defensive genius wasted valuable chips drafting defensive backs that can't play. SIX 2nd round picks over the last five years that are no longer on the team and Wilson may soon join them.

Cunningham would've made the team if he was healthy. He played very well last year until his suspension, and I'll bet he'd have done well this year. But by that point he'd blown all his second+ chances, so the injury does him in.

P.s., don't forget the other four 2nd rounders during this time period: Brandon Spikes, Rob Gronkowski, Sebastian Vollmer and Shane Vereen.

That means that since 2009, they've drafted four starting caliber players in the 2nd round in four drafts, with two (Gronk and Vollmer) All-Pros.

There are some questionable decisions in there as well (Dowling over Jabaal Sheard, Cunningham over Dunlap), but the sky is not falling.

They passed on Dunlap because they wanted Cunningham to be a 3-4 OLB which he did show promise doing. Dunlap wasnt a fit at the position

So was Dowling.

Their batting average isn't great on these picks, but they've got so many that they've still got a more than average number of hits in that round over the last four years.

They passed on a 3-4 look to change more to a 4-3 because they sucked at drafting players for the 3-4.

Add these LB gems to the suckfest d-backs:

Crable 3rd round -- Tyrone McKenzie 3rd round -- Cunningham 2nd round

2008 was pathetic. Mayo was hard to screw up because he was taken 10th overall. Then plain old STUPIDITY by Belichick cost them their second 1st rounder and to compound that stupidity, he drafted in rounds 2-3-4 Wheately, OConnell and Wilhite.

2009 was even worse than 2008:

Four 2nds, two 3rds and one 4th netted one player, Vollmer.

Belichick's haul, in order: Chung, Brace, Butler, Vollmer, Brandon Tate, Tyrone McKenzie, Ohrenberger

PATHETIC.
