Chris Culliver, hobbled by injury, 'toughed it out' in Redskins' victory - Washington Times

that is why i am not too angry at him for the blown coverages
he should have sat

Yeah, gotta give props to Culliver for starting. But damn, if your starting CB is down to 50% - 60% capability and you still feel more comfortable playing him over his back-up. Sounds like a new back-up is seriously needed. And I know Amerson was having issues, but cutting him in favor of a converted WR reeks of desperation on some level. Amerson wasn't that bad.........................was he?

The problem with Amerson was that after 3 years, he still was out of position way too often. It was the mental mistakes that killed him, not the physical ones.

Did I hear that CC is going for an MRI today? Wouldn't you think that would have already been done?

Guys, it makes you wonder for a minute as to why he was out there to begin with doesn't it? Even if he was really 50-60% healthy which I question only because in this league you cannot function competitively at that level, but more so that he could have been hurt more because of his physical condition at the moment. On that note, the backup plan was to resign Dunbar, a converted WR they don't really trust right now to play. I'm sure SM is doing everything in his power to find a viable replacement as CC is having an MRI now but things in the secondary remain a huge question mark.

Tough situation at a position that was not considered a deep position if even adequate at the start of the season to be down 3 DBs already.

I don't know about the depth. Culliver, Breeland and Hall isn't such a bad group and before Amerson took a dump on himself he certainly looked serviceable as the 4th CB. The key to this thing may be Jarret.

Lot of pressure on Jarret but hopefully he can rise to the challenge this Sunday!

Lets see what Barry can draw up with 2 starting CBs out. Dline and LBers are going to have to get after it. Little scary since the Eagles got 3 deep ones last weekend.

Not that I am saying he is right but Cooley has no faith in Blackmon. Like you I am going to wait and see how the game goes. Might need to try to win a high scoring game. Certainly need a big day rushing Ryan. We have someone that can run over Chester right? :thumb:

Next man up.......next man up!! That's the attitude that this team needs to develop! ! I've mentioned this on other threads before about the need to have guys pushing starters for playing time. Maybe it's generational, but our backups should be chomping at their collective bits at any opportunity that gets them on the field, where their play makes the decision about who to start the following week impossible for the coaches to go wrong.

It gets a bit tiresome not falling for the okeydoke...........this guy is hurt, that one is not yet 100% or my favorite he'll be a bit rusty. Guess what? They all get paid to play the game right? Then dammit, get out there and ball out....this is grown man stuff, nobody wants to nor needs to hear excuses why your ass is gettin' smoked. Did anyone see what that ancient, half dead Matt Hasselback pulled off last night? Youngsters and others should take note!!

Sty you can't be any more generational than I am. I understand next man up. Did you not read what I said. 2 starting CBs are down. One went last week and was chided for playing hurt by many. The 4th string corner is on IR so that is next man, next man and next man up. It's fine to ask for next man up, that is part of the game but you have to count how many times they are asking for next man up. Besides Breeland they do not have anyone they planned on being on the team.

I get frustrated too when guys can't play You can only go so far. My nephew broke his leg and now has a rod in his leg. Is he supposed to next man up? We all know football is a game of injuries. I am sure the guys that come out will do all they can to be the next man up. It is certainly their chance to prove they belong. Don't be shocked if they come up lacking some though.
