everybody talks about LeBron's bball iq but why does he settle for jumpers so often down the stretch. he should get to the rim at will

Just heard this on NBATV. I was pretty shocked but I hate how they narrow down clutch to the last 5 seconds. A shot hit with 15 or 25 seconds is just as big IMO

I don't know about just as big but still pretty damn big. shots under 5 second end the game or extend games

Settling for jumpers late in games always been an issue for James. I think it is out of fear that he may fail at the free throw line

Also, in a 5 seconds or less situation, I would imagine that many players have terrible percentages.

Why is Jamaal Crawford and Brandon Jennings getting 27 to 30 game-winning attempts when LeBron only has 47? I understand a successful team has to keep teams guessing, that seems a bit high.

Note that this is regular season only. He's 4-12 in the playoffs in the past 10 seasons.

This also excludes the first 3 years of his career, in which he was 4-14 in these situations (and 1-2 in the playoffs). That "10 seasons" was chosen very intentionally to make this look worse.

The NBA as a whole is 51-250 on shots in this situation this season (20.4%). In LeBron's career he's 14.8% in the regular season and 35.7% in the playoffs, 18.7% combined.

LeBron also has unwordly per48 stats in the last 5 minutes of close games.

Better to be above average in those situations in the playoffs and below average in the regular season than the other way around.

Better teams are in fewer close games in the regular season.

Must be a conspiracy against Lebron. After all, it's not like 10 year time frames are commonly used or anything.

True, but I assumed there were other players on the bad teams Jennings and Crawford were on.

How much homework did you have to do in order to make your boy look just a little bit better? Give it up, Lebron chokes under pressure.

Not a Lebron fan but he does not choke under pressure. He has been amazing in the clutch especially in the playoffs in the last 4 years......Unless you're one of those losers who think regular season is more important than the playoffs.

It's weird bc they have this stat but according to another stat he was the most clutch player since, I think 2003 or 07 or something. I posted it on here before

Yeah, his playoff numbers are great. There was an article from about 2 years ago about it comparing his playoff shooting percentages in the closing seconds of games to Kobe and Jordan. His percentages were much better than Kobe and very close to Jordan. It seems like last year helped LeBron's playoff stats, too, with that game winning shot against the Bulls in their playoff series.
