That's some crazy shit. You have a minimum $250K race car in the parking lot with no type of security, lock, alarm, nothing ? How the fuck do you get your race car stolen? This isn't some Saturday night, dirt track special. This was a Cup car.
Well they probably figured "hey, no one would steal a Cup car" because you'd have no use for it. What they didn't consider was it was in a standard trailer, so no one knew what was inside. My guess is the thieves thought the trailer was just loaded with some nice tools, lawn mower equipment, etc. Stuff that can be sold easily. They probably opened the trailer and were like "Holy shit. This is useless".
Just saw the picture of what the truck and trailer looked like: Talk about small time budget on the Cup series circuit.
They might want to give truck racing a shot.
they find the sprint car near you and suddenly you have a new truck??They had the car on rollback this morning in Buford, GA. Saw it on my way to work this morning around 6 AM.
Bwah...they kept the trailer, evidently.
I would have sold them parts off. Plenty of chop shops would have paid good money for some of the engine pieces.
cant wait to see the redneck that tries to put the missing engine in his truck...The thing of it is though, there's nothing much of value on the car. Everything is specialized for that specific purpose. Pretty much everything except like bolts and bearings can't be used on any other vehicle, and that's including the engine. Plus, the parts that aren't custom made in the shops (ie engine components, shocks, etc) have serial numbers on them that can be tracked.
