maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see this as a PR move. I actually think they brought Sam in to see the football player and add a skill set (rushing the passer) should the mash unit arrive in Dallas again. Wouldn't shock me he's let go without playing a down in Dallas...guess time will tell this story

I don't see it solely as a PR move and I don't think it has anything to do with jersey sales. I believe and I said it here on a post Saturday, I think the move is a can't lose situation for Jerry. The team brings him in and Jerry always appreciates the extra media attention and the guy may actually find a way to contribute. Everyone knows Dallas has issues on defense and 1 will most certainly be the pass rush as well as the awful secondary. If Sam can find a way to contribute maybe as a 3rd down pass rusher and help the team you can't fault Jerry for trying to improve a poor defense. The NBA has guys that are 3 point specialists and defensive specialists that teams give roster spots. Why not take a flyer on the guy for something the team lacks. I don't see him as a major contributor because he isn't a special teams guy and can't really cover as LB and his speed to the outside holds him back. But maybe he finds a niche as a pass rush guy on certain down scenarios.

Hard to say where this goes. No question jerry seeks attention, but it's a non-story unless Sam gets on the 53.

It's funny....I'm thinking this team will be better this season on defense because the secondary play will be better. I actually think the dline rotation will be serviceable as we get bodies back but that linebacker play? Large chunks on the ground makes everything outta whack.

I've been trying to decide why Dallas brought in Sam. Was it a football decision or was it for attention. I've come to the conclusion it was neither. It was about Brent. Dallas expected a shorter suspension. With Brent and his agent appealing to 10 games Jerry signed Sam to try and get in Goodells good graces.

I'm more than likely completely wrong but it makes sense.
