The Redskins took deep shots on Monday night, they just missed their chances

As Breed stated before, Cousins needs to grow a pair and throw it down field when there's no safety over the top of DJax. Are we seeing the development of a Captain Checkdown? Kirk seemed to be aggressive earlier in his career. I guess it's a trade off for his terrible INTs. But are we seeing misreads or lack of balls here?

I hope we never see that 7 OL formation again. Those extra "TE"s don't mean shit when they don't block anyone.

To be fair to Kirk, listening to his weekly interview on radio, he said flatly that he didn't feel he was at a point in his development to change a play at the LOS. I'm not exactly sure if that means he has enough on his plate by the coaches standards, his comfort level in doing so vs. the criticism he would face if he got it wrong or some other reason is at play here. Whatever the case, we have to at least take him at his word. That makes a lot of things (at least to me) quite a bit clearer.

You certainly can put some of this on Cousins. However - any semblance of a running game & better than horrible O line blocking would also make this a heck of a lot easier. Hopefully - there is some improvement in these areas for the remainder of the season.

Excerpt

While fans were left blaming Gruden and the play-calling for taking so long to call a deep shot, the fact is the Redskins actually called for at least five shots throughout the game. Cousins opted against what could have been two touchdowns, while he marginally missed Jackson and Garcon on the other two throws. The plays were called, but the execution was lacking. For that, Cousins has to take blame.

This about sums up the way I feel regarding DY. tho I'd add McVay and Callahan to the list

I've said it before, I'll say it again. If a FB simply isn't in the plans of the future offense of the Redskins. Then move DY to TE. At 5'11" 251 pounds he's more than big enough and he'd immediately and by a significant margin be the team's best blocking TE. He's also a decent pass catcher.

That's just outright asinine to ask/expect JC to do something like this. The odds are better that JC will get hurt or maybe even injured than they are that he puts an adequate block on McClain.

Perhaps I'm asking/wanting too much, but whatever it may mean. I find it pretty disappointing to read that KC isn't comfortable enough to change a play at the LOS. The "Kirk knows the offense better than any other QB on the team." mantra means a whole lot less to me now.

And it doesn't speak to or explain at all his hesitancy in taking shots downfield.
