I hope to hell Couture ends this one quick. I have a lot of boxing friends who think any boxer could walk in and conquer MMA. If an old ass Toney is even competitive I am going to be sick.

I can't see this going past the 1st round in favor of Couture of course.

Are your friends serious? Boxers have only one aspect to worry about when they fight and that's the fist. Boxers wouldn't know how to handle clinching, wrestling, takedowns, submissions, kicks, knees, elbows, ground and pound, full guard, half guard, the lest goes on and on. Obviously they don't know shit about MMA. Also, boxing gloves offer A LOT more protection than MMA gloves.

Couture wins 1st round 2:46 by KO.

That's cause Tim Sylvia isn't really that great. His stand up game has major holes in it (evident by Couture picking him apart) and he never really had a ground game. He relies way too much on his height and reach advantage. Atleast that's my opinion.

I hate big Timmy, but he was the UFC champ (during the low times) and he got his butt knocked out in under 10 seconds.

He was UFC champ when most fighters thought stand up and punches were the way to go, which gave him a huge advantage. And again I'll state, his stand up has HUGE holes in it.

And on the flipside, MMA'ers couldn't walk in a boxing ring and dominate either. Why? Because they are two different sports. I love both, but I have no clue why people try to bash one by comparing it to the other...

Very good point. Never thought of it from that perspective, but I'd have to agree.

I get the best of both worlds by following Detroit sports (historical hotspot for boxing) and living in Iowa, which is a huge stomping ground for MMA training.

Pa is doing well with the MMA, our boxers are 2nd rate. But Frankie Edgar the LW Champ and Josh Koschuk are from Pa.
