In the thread asking posters here what the maximum amount per season they would pay Kirk, I arrived at that figure by adding this year's tag number (rounding to 24) and next year's tag ( rounding to 28) lo and behold I got 26. That to me would be the max number. If he wanted more than that if I'm the owner........STEP!!!!

Dan Snyder's bank, I honestly don't give a shit!!

I ieally believe he is done here
If I had to place odds on his staying, I would say that it's probably something like 60% chance that he stays 40% he goes.

If he does go, I have to wonder if there is someone in that front office who has done what one poster here has done :D, and that is to think about that eventuality AND formulate a viable plan going forward.

so far doesn't look like they have any type of plan and the Redskins are going down in flames

We have not been active so far in FA's and I think the SM and the KC situation is the main reason. As of right now looks like we are going to build this team through the draft. As far as the KC seeking 26.5 mil that's more than Luck numbers.

Very true. However - the latest crap coming out of Redskins Park gives Cousins more leverage than ever. Honestly - if I were him I would ask for the moon now, and I would not write this off to greed. They have been not taking him seriously, have stripped him of some of his weapons & they can't even seem to get their own act together. He knows that if they let him go that they are going to have serious issues with a good chunk of this fanbase.

Jeez - I can't believe that a minimum this stupid organization doesn't at least address this head on w/ the press (even if there are alcohol issues w/ SM there are ways to diplomatically handle that). What a bunch of clowns.

Just saw on ESPN that Cousins went to Snyder and requested a trade out of Washington. Snyder's response was he does not intend on trading Cousins. This has become a joke! You have to now give away Cousins because he will steal your 23.94M this year and walk next. Someone forgot to tell Snyder he has no power in this situation. The whole off season has become a dumpster fire and the fan base has to suffer because of FO inept leadership.

Well, its official. 2017 is going to be the first time in 25 years that I will not be attending any Redskins games. I cant convince myself that its worth a 8-14 hour drive, plus the cost of tickets, tail gating etc. We have a GM and a QB that we have basically driven out of town. A team president more concerned with winning off the field, and an owner still in a constant state of denial. If we get more than a 3rd rounder for Cousins at this point i will be shocked.

Hey Dean - still write this whole thing off to greed on Cousins part? Especially in light of the fact that the Redskins could have agreed to a relatively cheap deal last offseason? Do you also feel confident that the Redskins won't fuck up any draft picks that they receive in return for Cousins?

This pattern is becoming very disturbing. Pay a ton for FAs from the outside yet go the cheap route on your own FAs. Depressing.

Hopefully more fans like yourself Shark make this decision. It is finally time for the fan base to show Snyder he is no longer welcome as an owner of this team. He should be forced to sell the team to someone who cares about its players, FO personnel and more importantly, the fan base. Once this happens we can start a new rebuild with new ownership. I'm guessing it will be a welcomed change by the current fan base.

The ESPN story states that Cousins wants a trade UNLESS he gets a long term deal. What the hell are the Redskins waiting for? Make every freaking effort to get this done ASAP! Up until now they could have waited until the draft or even July for this to occur. However - given the recent mess they really need to get this done to get this back on track & gain at least some trust from the team and their fans. If they wait to negotiate at a later date Cousins might even take the stance that no matter what he won't extend.

Sounds like fucking Snyder's ego is in the way once again. Maybe the NFL needs to intervene since this almost looks like a case of an owner ruining his own team just to get his way. What an a-hole...

Cousins says, without long term deal wants to be traded.

Interesting sound like money is the answer here.
