àccording to kffl .com cousin free agent market according to other owners in the league is 17 to 20 mill range sorry i cant copy and past
It just depends on how he finishes the season, but if not, who do you replace him with? And how much is that going to cost? Just realize that if you bring a QB in from FA, you are starting over for the most part. QB is the one position you don't want to be cheap on if you think you have a guy that will work out.source washington post the post is saying to sign cousin it will be 17 to 20 mill range and if skins franchise tag him it will cost 25 mill So do we keep cousin if we have to pay him 17 to 20 mill a year????????
A good indication of the team's willingness to pay is the extension for RG3. SM was willing to pay him $16.1m next year if he worked out. You can also point to capernick in SF and the contract SM designed for him. He had the potential to make some big bucks, but there were also outs for the franchise if he didn't work out. I expect a similar type of deal for KC.Not sure why the Post would even mention the franchise tag, that will not happen. I was prepared for this, starting quarterbacks get paid. But I really wasn't expecting this kind of money if the figures are accurate. But as we've discussed all year what other option does the team have?

Here's a article from a cat who's very much in favor of signing Cousins. In fact the writer thinks it should be done right now. The writer, at least imo, uses at least one stat, comp %, in too much of a void. And just when you start to think, he's riding KC's jock like a fan-boy. He brings it back with an honest criticism of KC. He (the writer) thinks Cuz can be a top ten QB.
Why The Redskins Should Extend Kirk Cousins Today
Dave, do you know who this writer is and if so. What are your thoughts on him.
17 to 20 million......a year, at least imo, is too much to pay for KC at this point in time.
Scot McCloughan’s history with quarterbacks
First of all I hope that everyone take's Sharks comments with a couple lbs of salt - good effort in lightening up the mood Shark. Anyhow - as this discussion progresses it is interesting to drag out an old article about SM and his approach towards QBs. I truly believe that he would like to refrain from using very high picks on QBs especially in an offseason where there does not appear to be an elite prospect.
As per the article & other indications it would appear that SM would like to continue to use the early rounds to build other areas of the team. Also - his experience in drafting A. Smith may make him a little gun shy in reaching too high for a QB. We will see.
