Iowa State, however, went on to beat a Top 10 TCU three weeks later, beat Memphis in the Liberty Bowl, to finish 8-5.

None of which Illinois will accomplish this season.

Yep, you're right. Both Clemson and OU got in with bad losses. In the end the were unaffected by those losses.
