Contact talks with DT and Orange Julius have started

According to Mike Klis the broncos have started talking to the agents of both the Thomas' and are hoping to have something done before training camp. Good news for sure!!

I'd like to see JT do it again this year before we offer him an extension....especially with the intriguing prospect of Gerrell Robinson at TE. We already knew DT was going to get a huge deal before too long, so we might as well get on with it. What are you guys thinking for him? 6-7 years/$60-$70 million?

Is that wishful thinking, maybe?

Just realized I put "Contact" instead of "Contract" in the title. Hate when I try to type these posts on my phone. Never quite turns out like one would hope. I agree I would just let JT have another year and see what he can do. He still hasn't been healthy for a full season and is still very raw in my book for the TE position. If nothing else they can franchise tag him next year as the TE position is one of the cheaper positions right now and get another chance to see what he can bring.


DT's contract will probably be something like 5 years/$60 million. Top WR's are going for around $12 million right now and DT deserves to be in that group.
