I think he needs to hit 1000 to have a host at the Hall of Fame. Awesome for him.

All he needs is just a couple more years. I hope he does it. He lived with a buddy of mine when he was playing in Albany when his career first started. They still talk to each other pretty much after every game. Classy guy.

100% biased opinion: He should be a lock already. 2 cups, 900 points, plus factor in the he missed because of 2 lockouts and Hep C he'd already be at 1000. Elias is a Hall of Famer *nods*

I think anybody that has watched him play on a regular basis would agree, however there are ignorant voters out there that will need to see the stats in order to put him in.

If he were on a more offensive minded team he would have been an 80+ point guy every season. I don't think he's ever been up for a Selke, which is a shame because he is unbelievably good at backchecking.

I think 500 goals would be harder. Alot has to go right for that puck to go in off your stick. If you play on a line with a real scorer you just need to feed him the puck and you don't even have to be the one that passes it to him. You can pass it to the guy who passes it to him.

Both pretty hard to do though.
