Marty was on his game tonight. Early on in the game when the team was looking shaky he seemed like the only one with his head in the right place. There were a lot of 1 on 1's with the shooter that Marty owned. Once again the pairing of Fayne and Greene were out for another goal against.
I didnt think they combined playoff and regular season wins?
Just think 1 1/2 years missed because of lockout there's your 50 wins. Maybe he wouldve had 800
That's true about the lockout, but Marty also said the lockout probably added years to his career. You get a full season to recover from injuries you don't have. That year of rest goes a long way toward recovering from wear and tear.
Yeah but Roy still has 4
And mvp. Give me Marty to get to the playoffs. Give me roy in a game 7
....As we painfully found out in 2001
Anyway, this debate brings me to a point i was going to bring up in another thread. Does anyone think this Devils team reminds you of Tampa Bay last year? Young offensive and defensive core and an aged veteran goalie. I just hope we don't lose game 7 of the ECF 1-0 like they did because our offense has one of it's many hiccups which have left me on the edge of the proverbial cliff all year. One minute i think we're toast then we rattle off 4 in a row and I think "WTF was I thinking?" Then I think we're on a roll and we drop 4 in a row and again I think "WTF was I thinking?"
