Once Doc took Vernon Butler I had my clear #1 in Jones.

I didn't want to lose him when I trade down but I had a feeling I would get him and I would have bee ok with two others there, but really honestly if it was the real draft I may not have chanced it with someone possible moving ahead of my pick.

I have started to see mocks with Chris Jones going top 15...

Surprised you went with him DC over another certain WR.

I have 3 teams (Saints owner dropped out) and all 3 teams have drafted a WR.

meh.. I know right? In real life I'd take you know who (I think) but just seemed more like what Denver would do here. PR abilities etc... I try to draft like I figure my team would do (although I know it is technically my decision in this), but I try and do a mixture of the two. Plus I wanna see where he goes if I don't take him. Afterall, he will be the #1 WR in this years class.

Good point. Shepherd does seem to fit what the Broncos would want and need in a WR as Punt Return Skills would be a nice added bonus. I also do think they will look for a quicker guy on the inside as past this upcoming season when we most likely lose Sanders good chance Latimer takes over on the outside so they need that inside guy.

And if they can't re-sign Sanders next year, Sterling could be his replacement.

Exactly my feelings. Sanders replacement if he isn't re-signed (hopefully he is) I just didn't want my fellow Bronco people throwing eggs at me for taking the best WR in the draft. (You all will see soon)

:)

Shep just made more sense for us but if you know who is as good as I think he will be then I'd in all honesty take him in my real life world. ;) But I wanted to do what i saw Denver doing and Shep is a player I admire a lot.

If it's who I am thinking of, I considered him with my SD pick and Damn near took him for the Giants. I did a mock at another site where I took him for the Giants in the 3rd round.

I figure if I don't take him here we have a better shot to draft him... He hasn't heard a lick from Denver though. (Neither did Kayvon though when we drafted him)

I hear that a lot. Especially, from non 1st rounders. You really can't read too much into player visits before the draft. You may be able to see patterns, like which positions a team may target or what a player's value may be.
