Detroit, home of Motown and some of the greatest music and artists that this world has ever seen now hosts a divisional playoff game between the Washington Commanders and their very own Detroit Lions in a city that could not have produced an artist or song more fitting to both teams as D.C. native Marvin Gaye and his hit song "Let's Get It On!" Although the Lions are heavy favorites to win this one, the upset-minded Commanders seemed determined not to be an easy out for their hosts. Here's your game preview!

The Washington Commanders will face off against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in what promises to be an electrifying NFC Divisional Round showdown. Let's break down the key details and factors that will shape this highly anticipated matchup.

Team Records and Playoff Journey:
The Detroit Lions come into this game with an impressive 15-2 record, having secured the top seed in the NFC and a well-deserved first-round bye. The Washington Commanders, on the other hand, finished the regular season with a solid 12-5 record. The Commanders advanced to the Divisional Round after a nail-biting 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sealed by a last-second field goal.

Key Players to Watch
Washington Commanders:

Jayden Daniels (QB): The Commanders' quarterback has been pivotal, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns in the Wild Card game. Daniels also led the team in rushing yards with 36.

Terry McLaurin (WR): With seven receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers, McLaurin remains a crucial offensive weapon.

Brian Robinson Jr. (RB): Averaging 10 fantasy points per game throughout the season, Robinson Jr. needs to regain his position as a reliable ground game option for Washington.

Detroit Lions:
Jared Goff (QB): Goff has been impressive, with a regular-season performance that places him as the sixth-best fantasy quarterback. He threw for 231 yards in their last game against the Vikings.

Jahmyr Gibbs (RB): Leading the Lions with 139 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the same game, Gibbs is a key player to watch.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR): Averaging 11.8 fantasy points per game, St. Brown's contributions in the passing game will be vital for the Lions.

Betting Odds and Predictions:
The Detroit Lions are favored by 9.5 points, with an over/under of 55.5 points. Given their consistent performance this season and home-field advantage, the Lions are expected to come out on top. However, the Commanders have repeatedly shown resilience and the ability to win close games, making this a potentially thrilling encounter.

Conclusion:
This Saturday's matchup at Ford Field is set to be a captivating clash between two determined teams. The Lions with a week's rest and preparation, coupled with their offensive prowess, make them strong contenders. Meanwhile, the Commanders will look to build on their momentum and deliver another upset.

Grab your drinks/snacks and get ready for what promises to be an exciting and memorable playoff game! Enjoy the Game, Everyone!

Its not the way you want to win, but i believe a key offensive player from Detroit will be injured and not able to continue in the game.
It will ruin their momentum, and we will escape with a win. Once we beat Tampa, you have to believe we can beat anyone in the NFC

We have a chance against this team. Their defense is weak, especially against the pass and mobile QBs. The question is can we hold Detroit’s offense from scoring on a couple of drives. To do that, we need turnovers. The Lions O line isn’t the best and their QB is not mobile. Expect Washington to blitz heavy and often, looking to make some plays.

Early on both teams will attack weaknesses. Hopefully we will rise to the challenge for 4 downs

I agree we should move the ball on their defense especially if they are in man coverage. JD5 running and the screen game should work well against them. I disagree with you about Detroit's oline. They are very good. Goff not being mobile helps us but their oline always gives him time to throw.

The Ben Johnson vs Whitt matchup is going to be key here. Whitt is going to have to call the game of his life against Johnson. If we can force them to kick Fg's we have a good chance
