That is what PFF said. I know they don’t always know the situation, but I’d just about guarantee they know more about it than us.

Interesting. The PFF-written piece I just read after reading your post has him responsible for 15 sacks, the OL responsible for12 sacks and listed 7 sacks as other reasons. From that breakdown that would mean Howell was still responsible for the majority of the 34 sacks at 44%, but responsible for 20 sacks would jump that percerntage up to 58.8%. This is the piece I read. Sam Howell continues to show promise, but taking sacks has been an issue | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF.

Also of note is where this PFF piece says Howell has his problems. Which a few posters here have commented on.

His problem is getting to the point where he needs to scramble. He’s done a much better job at working through his progressions and making the right decision, but if nobody is open, everything breaks down. He hesitates to either throw it away or scramble from the pocket. He has to make a decision, and it has to be quick.

On a little more positive note:
An ESPN piece just came out this morning talking about how the Skins passing game is showing signs of growth and of note. Gave a valid reason on why we, the fans, or outfits such as ESPN or PFF. May not always be able to pinpoint who is exactly responible for what. Due to adjustments a QB or a WR or both QB n WR have to make on a play that's been called n is being run.

I take that to mean that on some plays. It might not necessarily mean it was the fault of the QB or the OL. Maybe it was the WR who failed to make the adjustment. Or maybe it wasn't anyone's fault on offense. Maybe it was just a better defensive playcall than an offensive playcall on that particular play. This is the ESPN piece. Commanders' passing game shows signs of growth in win vs. Falcons
