What did the LBers do wrong? KC had 63 yards rushing

Third down offense for the 1st unit .... I'd like to see that be better
Third down defense ... same ole ... a lot of that was Mahomes free lancing and making a play.


The Chiefs are better so they should have won, they won 14-0 with both teams using their 1st units. The rest was essentially a tie except for the final TD caused by an Int. This all goes back to discussions here about being able to beat good teams

I liked the OL who was playing backups to start the game
I love BRob
I liked that they used AG to play in space
I think Kam and Kendall made some good plays but they got victimized a couple of times each.

Offense

Wentz has to learn how to throw the ball out of bounds when nothing is there. He's not quite the athlete he thinks he is anymore.

Heinicke cemented the #2 spot unless Howell goes crazy next week. Even then, after today's performance TH should be the #2 week 1

Robinson is and should be the starter. AG was used correctly. When McKissic comes back it will be interesting to see how they get both AG and JD on the field.

Gotta find a way to sneak Rogers onto the roster.

All three Wrs look ready to go. Brown had a TD but Howell threw a little behind him and Cam came up with a tough catch for a score. Solid effort from that group.

I thought all things considered the o-line was great. They are being coached up.

I'm guessing we showed nothing on either side today purposely? Line banged up, TE's banged up. Until the games count I will not judge. I hope the next 3 weeks of practice are meaningful.

you need to watch the game to see why his average was 3.9. I think he picked up 3 (maybe 4) and 1s. Not all third downs but something Gibson was not good at. He is a better RB than Gibson. Gibson is much better at playing in space. There is room for both of them. It seems since you didn't like the pick you don't like the guy. I would love to see them use both, they both have value to the team.

I will say this ... at least at this point. He does not have Gibson's ability for big plays but that may change with times.

Agree, they the DBs should be closer to the LOS. Seems like the time to play dime with press coverage and two or three deep in case a WR tries to go over the top.

Is it me or is Mahomes one of the most talented QBs to play the position in the past 30 years? His ability to extend plays and throw on the run, with different arm slots, and to stay cool under pressure is fun to watch. I thought he was going to be a bust coming from Texas Tech. Was I an idiot or what?

I don't have as much problem with the depth the DBs have on this play. They have Holcomb at the Mike and Davis is going to blitz. The DBs are inside the line to make on 2nd and 10. I don't think I would press cover here. If you go to a dime then I press cover and zone up the back.

JDR is zone defense coach. They'll play man occasionally as a change up but they are going to be in zone a LOT.
