Same to the thumb. He will be alright. Wear a protective brace over, tape it up, glove it up and LFG!!!

It's ugly. When I did it my pinky finger dislocated at the middle knuckle and it slid down to the knuckle on my hand. My buddy said "can you pull it back out." I tried and it slid right back into position. Needed the stiches though where it broke through the skin.

Ever seen Charles Mann's hands or Baldy? They have fingers pointing in all directions.
