Smokey Robinson's "Quiet Storm" although, not specifically, a song about D.C., is well represented in local radio and has become the long-standing opening theme song at Howard University's WHUR evening programming bearing the same title. His enchanting opening lyrics capture the essence of the two new budding power entrants on the NFL scene and their faithful following. Let's get some game details!

When the Washington Commanders play the Chicago Bears on Sunday, October 27, 2024, you can expect an exciting game with several key storylines:

Quarterback Showdown: I only write this because the status of QB Jayden Daniels is uncertain with this posting. If he’s able to play the game will feature a matchup between two of the top rookie quarterbacks in the 2024 draft, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. Both have demonstrated great potential and will be looking to make a statement against each other’s defenses.
Rest vs Momentum: The Bears are coming off of their “bye” week allowing them extra time to rest and prepare. On the other hand, the Commanders will be coming off a dominant win over the Panthers. Daniels once again shined before being replaced by veteran Marcus Mariota.

Defensive Battle: In a league slanted towards offense, both teams must showcase their defensive abilities to temper the opposing offenses. The Commanders' 16th-ranked squad allowing 329.1 yards per game and 18 touchdowns on the season will face a considerable challenge in their attempt to match Chicago's 5th-ranked unit that allows 292 yards per game and only 10 touchdowns on the season

Turnovers: As always, turnovers will play a significant role in determining the outcome. Whichever team forces and, capitalizes on them will have the upper hand.

Running Game: Both teams have solid running backs who will be significant keys to controlling the game, time of possession, and their ability to stay ahead of the first down markers.

Special Teams: This is the first time all season that I’m suggesting special teams will play a significant role in a Commanders’ game this season. They’ve come close to housing a return having their only one called back because of a penalty. While they may not return one for a touchdown, the contribution to excellent field position will be noticeable.

Injury Concerns: Uncertainty at quarterback for the Commanders and in the defensive backfield for the Bears will impact the strategy of both squads. A 2.5-point spread suggests a tightly contested game, likely tilted in favor of the team that best takes advantage of these absences. Enjoy the game, everyone!

'Feel good, feel good'

Do you expect to play Sunday? 'I want to play but not my decision'

pretty much exactly as we all thought

Bears and their fans have been talking. It's weird. Never considered the Bears a rival and I'm sure vice versa. Feels like it's going to get chippy out there Sunday.

I’m not mad at the Bears. I’m not mad at their fans.

OTOH, the predictions out there for this game being overwhelmingly for the Bears is wild.

They havent beaten anybody good and though their wr room is impressive, they’re not significantly better than the commanders.

Keenan Allen is garbage. Now watch him destroy us.

I'm actually really worried about this one, Jayden or not. Hope I'm wrong. I think Caleb is the second most sacked QB this year.

If we can get home, maybe that will neutralize the three wideouts and Kmet. Still have to worry about Swift.

Let's see what Whitt Jr. can scheme up.

Right now I see a close game but the bears defense is better than ours. We need to play our best to win
