I
If he is healthy he is clearly better than Robinson and Rodriguez
This is when i knew Rivera didn't care anymore. One of the most depressing picks because of who we passed on.
In addition to that chart, you have...Olave, J.williamson, Jordan Davis, McDuffie, Karlarftis, McBride. This is criminal
This is why I hated the hire from Day 1. I took a lot of heat for it for 4 years because I didn't applaud as he killed the team.Let's revisit that draft and what was said in real time by a few of us:

I tried telling one poster specifically that Rivera had ZERO front office experience. To run an entire NFL front office, you need a ton of experience.I hear you. I had a bad feeling when they made the playoffs with a poor record. False sense of hope

I don't buy the whole "that is the best we could have done" approach. The bottom line is that Rivera had no business being the GM and he has since confessed to it.
We are darn lucky that Peters has come in and corrected so much of the mess that Rivera left in so little time. I could tell after the first free agency cycle that Rivera was out of his depth. Jon Bostic and JD McKissic? Then came the draft which was even worse. The coach centric method is a disaster and seems to have been abandoned mostly.
I will admit that Rivera helped lead to the team being sold. The garbage product on the field helped contribute to the fans not showing up and or leaving to go to the Ravens. If Snyder wasn't getting hurt in the pocket book, who knows what have happened. Of course the NFL investigation and lawsuites were the main catalyst behind the sell, but the team being awful certainly helped in some way.
Who the heck thought Rivera would succeed in the front office? Lol hope it wasn't me.
I agree with everything you said, it is somewhat ironic that his dysfunction no doubt helped the team get sold. Peters has been great, I'm slightly concerned about our pass rush but I'm also keeping in mind you can't fix everything immediately
For the record Sty, you were right there from the begining and smelled the BS as well sir. You had it figured out probably before I did...LOLLet's revisit that draft and what was said in real time by a few of us:

In a court of law, you would have been convicted of patience, wisdom, perserverance, perception, foresight, positivity, and attention to detail. GUILTY as charged my friend!Thank you!
Seeing eye to eye with you and some other posters is the one thing that we should all strive to do because the only requirement is the willingness to see things outside of ourselves for exactly what they are, and not what we hope, or wish them to be.
I called for a "dedicated GM" (a term that I made up) as far back as the Bruce Allen hire and like you, had to wait for time to provide validation against many detractors.
Right now, it bothers me that there was so much wasted time and energy on this franchise leading up to the necessary changes that have reignited Commanders nation. Perhaps I should be less bothered and more grateful for this ultimate outcome. Maybe I will create another poll those perspectives.
LOL...I appreciate that, but I have a small bone to pick with you about "bellyaching" and "meltdowns."" Instead of either of those things I saw, a man determined to be heard... opposition be damned because you knew you were right! Let's not confuse contributions to our board with anything other than what the board was created for everyone to do. Now there could be a couple of exceptions, but I'm willing to bet that most of us read every word of the now hundred of thousands of posts here, including yours! MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS, my guy, not bellyaching and not meltdowns. In a court of law, you would have been convicted of patience, wisdom, perserverance, perception, foresight, positivity, and attention to detail. GUILTY as charged, my friend!
You must have a crystal ball because you are a crackshot and hit bullseyes on:

You said there would be a day of reckoning...and you were correct. While I was bellyaching and having meltdowns, you were patient and stated in humility that we were going off the cliff in a clowncar.
You are the straw that stirs the drink my fine fellow.
Keep up the work buddy. From now on...you are known as Big Time.
