nothing wrong with that if you do things reasonably . the deal was an overpay in draft resources in which you are looking for short trem gain at the expense of future stability . if we dont make the superbowl in the next 2 years then the trade was a failure

So NFC championships and relvance is not good for you? cmon man

We do understand how and why a left tackle improves this team. It allows Coleman to move to either guard or RT, Wylie slide inside, and gives us flexibility until Cosmi returns.

What you don’t understand , or refuse to listen, is we don’t believe there is much difference between Tunsil and Jaylon Moore or Cam Robinson. What you do t seem to understand is how this offense is run and how being behind the chains is a horrible thing.

Not much difference in Moore, and Robinson compared to LT? cmon man. you are really reaching now. Anohter example on how you are bashing LT.

Caleb Williams was sacked ALOT. 68 times to be exact. Jayden Daniels was technically sacked 47 times. Many of those sacks though were caused by JD not throwing the ball away and taking a half a yard loss while running out of bounds.

There is nothing wrong with trying to protect JD. Let me ask this another way. How long do you expect LT to play here? He is under contract for two years making 21 million each year.

Depends on his health and his productivity obviously

I'm really enjoying this conversation but perspective matters and the 3 of you are talking about improving a team that was one, albeit one gigantic step away from playing in the SB. Oh my what time and meaningful play has wrought upon this group!

Tunsil is one of the best LTs in the game.
Lowest pressure rates for left tackles in the NFL (minimum 150 pass-blocking snaps):

He's a great player to have protecting the franchise QB. Also, adding him will allow the team to put Coleman at OG (likely rather than RT). Coleman will be much better at that position. That will improve two Oline positions right away. That is huge for the offense.

Also Tunsil is a very good run blocker. He is not only very athletic, he's very strong. His bench press at 34 reps was one less than Aaron Donald had at the combine.

Tunsil was the best LT available. PFF has Tunsil ranked 8, Stanley 20, Robinson 28.

The Commanders Oline just got a lot better. I really like this move.

For those who are more conservative... yes, others, not at all. For me, I think that they are still digging out of the massive talentless hole that Rivera left for them so, "overpay" is a necessary component.
I started to write about this in a new thread, but since you've asked, this is not yet a fully functional organization because of the previous group. They can't be more heavily reliant on the draft because they have a QB on a rookie deal and the "talent" around him was simply not good enough to be competitive.
Here's a look at their first draft...
  • Jayden Daniels: Quarterback from LSU, selected second overall in the first round

  • Ben Sinnott: Tight end from Kansas State, selected 53rd overall in the second round

  • Mike Sainristil: Defensive back from Michigan, selected 50th overall in the second round

    • Luke McCaffrey: Wide receiver from Rice, selected 100th overall in the third round
    • Jordan Magee: Linebacker from Temple, selected 139th overall in the fifth round
    • Brandon Coleman: Guard from TCU, selected 67th overall in the third round
    • Dominique Hampton: Safety from Washington, selected 161st overall in the fifth round

    • So, I ask you and everyone else, what were they supposed to do with that? Sorry, they had to fill the gaps with veterans, and still do, sometimes "overpaying" for the privilege, until that drafted/ free agent balance is switched around. To that end, I'll ask this... is it possible that AP, as I am, not overly enamored with this draft class? Wouldn't that explain his ease with using draft capital via trades?
Sorry for the long response, but as I stated this was supposed to be part of my annual review.
