Thank you for your support! I will tell you we take serious but enjoy input to improve this team, research is done even in casual conversations. So i ask, if games are won and lost in the trenches, why did you not suggest online in the 1st or 2nd round?
We added several WRs in FA last year, so what free agent or Wr draft prospect would you recommend?

Sometimes you will see a very good OG or C drafted late in the first round. There is great value in that because top offenses usually have excellent run blocking and protection for the QB. Brady had great centers throughout his career. Logan Mankins for example was a late first round pick. I am certainly not opposed to that for the Commanders

It's less likely to get a top OT late in the first round but not impossible.

Some teams are willing to let talented linemen walk because of money, that's the scenarios to look for when you are top 3 in draft capital.

One of the reasons that I like RB in the first is because the position is undervalued (although that may change because of Barkley) There have been drafts where there is a run on RBs in the second round. If see a future star then that could potentially preserve Daniels career because he doesn't have to run as much.

I am just starting to get into the draft. RE WR: Great QB's bring out the best in receivers. That's what I see from Daniels. That said, I WR in the second round could be an addition that impacts right away and in the future under a rookie contract. I live in the Miami area. I have seen high priced WRs. It usually doesn't work when it causes a team to neglect quality linemen. The Eagles consistently got pressure with 4 Dlinemen. That's what the Commanders should strive to do.

Great input. You also saw that with Lamar Jackson recently too. Im not against taking a RB late either, but in this particular i think there are several starters in the 2nd, I can't say that for the 3rd. I agree copying what the eagles did is ideal. What i think people need to remember, (not saying you personally) is that the eagles have been building this team for years. You can go all the way back to Slay. They drafted extremely well, even sacrificing one year to have 2 1st round picks and they pulled off a trade to get AJ Brown, who at the time...was probably top 3 at the position. No one except the eagles front office knew that adding Barkley would be the final piece to winning a superbowl. The commanders on the other hand, have a ways to go and just started to build something for the future.

The Eagles are in the same division. I would start FA and the draft with a focus on protecting Daniels against that front 4 Dline. KC's Oline got outplayed and it was weird to not see KC even try to adjust their offense and run the ball more.

Look at the Eagles Oline. They are huge maulers. That's what the Commanders need. A better Oline would enable them to not abandon the run like KC did. OSU has a 220lb RB Judkins. He's big, fast and explosive. That's the type of RB that the team needs.

If the Commanders want to prioritize other positions in the draft for the first 3 rounds Mullings from Michigan could be a good choice. He's a 233lb power RB.

Another reason I like drafting RBs. They excel quicker then other positions. Washington just made it to the conference championship game. They are not too far off if they can handle the physicality of the Eagles.

i'll agree, being able to find our own AJ Brown and Saquan would be huge too.
we also have to believe Dallas will do their seesaw act and be good this year

if we can do this again, and Lattimore plays the way we expect -- you have to wonder if we can win the division
would be a huge help too. I think the Bills/Ravens/AFC Team we don't expect, their superbowl window just opened

Skin'EmAll,

What's your thoughts on DE Myles Garrett? He wants out of the Browns. He wants to be with a team with a great QB. The Commanders qualify.

The Browns are reluctant to let him go which is understandable. Two firsts and a player would be a fair trade. He will require a massive contract which eliminates more than half of the interested teams but not the Commanders.

I'd support the trade because our window to get to the superbowl is open. The NFL is truly a game of inches. If we had an elite pass rush, everyone benefits on defense, allowing us to roll with what we currently have in our secondary and improve the offense.
I do know, we won't get away with playing guys like forbes and st. Juste again in the secondary, nor can we afford Fowler being the only dominant guy again. Garrett seems like he could be what Barkley was for Philly for us. To be clear, if the Browns ask for a kings ransom, there are other options. Dallas, Vegas and Cincy also provide pass rush trade options

In order to bring in Garrett and possibly Mack in on a 1-year deal, do you ask Armstrong to restructure? His cap hit likely hits over $10m this year and quite frankly, with his 2024 signing bonus plus salary last year, he underachieved imo. I don't see us signing Fowler and see Ferrell (who did virtually nothing) coming back. I also see us drafting another edge to pair with Baptiste as backups.

I think Allen is a goner, or at least he restructures. I think Armstrong just had a rough year not being surrounded by what he had in Dallas.
He should bounce back. Mack? Mack is washed, he was part of a dream team defense, and did ok. Fowler was amazing just by giving max effort. he simply gassed out.

Fowler will want to get paid, not happening here if we bring in Garrett. Armstrong will still be here but, he has to up his production in order for this all to work as planned. Mack gets constant pressure and has 23 sacks in past 2 seasons. and does a great job of setting the edge. His presence alone with Garrett will change things considerably. I would certainly offer a 1-year deal for $10m. If he doesn't bite, so be it. Just my thoughts.
Mack gets an opportunity to play opposite Garrett and challenge him, and with DQ, while playing on a team with a remarkable QB.

Sweat....Payne.....Newton.....Garrett

That line plus a rebuilt offensive line is kinda why I've cooled on Higgins. Now if they get Higgins...I'll be the first in line yelling Superbowl. Can't wait to see what AP cooks up.
