Last week the Giants returned to AT&T 1 game behind the 'snakes with a cubcake schedule....how's that worked for us?

Giants 3-4 to the Pads, Astros and the first game against the Cubs

Arizona 7-0....

Not only did the team manage to drop 4 games in the standings, but they looked as bad as they have all year.

Sorry for the pantshatting...but...unbelieveable!

I totally missed it on my first pass.

He gets a rep for writing it, you get one for pointing it out...

Edit... Sorry, tz.. You now have one in the bank. I have been to generous with the reps towards you...

I think we can all declare 'pantshatting' to be the appropriate mode right now, or rather to say this kind of post isn't really shatting.

It's shatting when your team is cruising in first place and you call every bad play inexcusable and panic after every loss. It's shatting to declare a season over in June or July.

It's not shatting to see with your eyes what is happening at the end of August and be mad/sad about it.

I said it a few games back, the vets remind me of the 1985 team during their final month of the season. It's not that they don't care, they just look utterly defeated and hopeless.

If they weren't feeling that way a few games back they probably are for sure now...

I think we as fans crossed that line in the last couple of days. At this time last year for whatever reason we didn't lose hope, maybe because we were healthy, and we had an infusion of youth with no concept of failure yet (Posey, Madbum, etc).

This team is struggling even with great pitching because the hitters are terrible. And since they have "the look" of being resigned to being terrible, there is nothing to pin any hopes too. Can't even look to September calls ups because there are no bats coming up.
