Also, I think the Sens and B's colluded on a 3 pt game last night. Boston had 10 shots on goal combined in the second and third period while the Sens only had 4 more over that span. This after a first period where the B's outshot Ottawa 15-10. That shit don't add up.

No, but I don't see many Detroit fans bragging about 19 playoff appearances when they haven't had a shot in hell in contending for a Cup in the last 6 of those. It's mostly been "when the hell is the rebuild going to finally start" for much of that time.

/I am perfectly comfortable talking about the Leafs' Cup drought. I take little offence to a problem that is not of my own making. They've been losers for 50 years, and extra-terrible losers for, what, 20 of those years at least? Why would I have to be stupid to mention it?

But hey, good on the Sens getting into the playoffs. They did what the Leafs haven't been able to this week and under much more challenging circumstances.

With any luck, they'll face the Bruins in the division playoff instead of the Leafs and the mayor won't have to introduce another bylaw banning Leaf jerseys from town.

Maybe not stupid. Maybe something along the lines of:

I thought it was an interesting thing to add to an Ottawa thread and you come back in your typical fashion just bashing anything Ottawa.

Cool. Next time you guys post something about how great Matthews is in the TO thread I'll just jump in with:

• The Leafs have made the playoffs once since 2004
• The Leafs have NEVER won a conference much less a Cup in the last 50 years
  
• Leafs should actually be Leaves because English

...because all these things are so relevant to Toronto's NHL welfare cheque Auston Matthews.

I'm fine with this as a depth signing. I kind of think this means they have a trade coming. Too many NHL calibre D-Men.

Harpur - showed he's ready for the NHL during the playoffs
Chabot - he should make the team out of camp if it's based purely on ability,

should both push for spots.

That makes 9 guys. Hopefully this means some other GM in the league likes Boro's intangibles.

Saw this comment on a Deadspin post about Karlsson and had to re-post:

I have nothing to add to this other than I got into an elevator with him in Vegas during NHL Awards weekend, and the way he was maneuvering his little motorized scooter around the crowded lobby and to squeeze into a packed elevator was Scooter Hall of Fame-worthy. Forward, backward, side-to-side, K-turns...he had it all. And his girl is insanely hot.
