I wouldn't regret cutting manning either, it was the right decision, and I didn't just compare favre and the Packers there have been numerous players that have switched teams after a career with another. Announce him like everyone else, the crowd will cheer a little louder and move on.

save the "honor" for when he's retired, have him back, celebrate him like you should. To do it now is????? I don't even know what to call it. It's weird, it's why I don't understand it. The guy was awesome for the Colts, slob his knob when he's not trying to beat you, unless you're into that stuff.

Like I said, it depends on how they "honor" him. If it's just a highlight reel on the jumbo-tron I have absolutely no issues with that. But any kind of ceremony/speech is just going too far.

Not sure how to take what Irsay is trying to do. The guy seems like he has no clue what is going on and just seems to like to bring controversy his way. Most owners in the NFL are known but not trying to become the face of the franchise (Jerry Jones looking at you). Irsay sometimes just feels like that kid that is upset that Manning was more popular than him in Indy and wants to make sure it doesn't happen again with Luck. I agree this honoring him before the game should be something done after he retires not when he is on the opposing team trying to beat the Colts at home.

Very interested though to see how the Colts fans react to Peyton of whether they try to bring some major crowd noise against him or if they actually almost help the Broncos in cheering to help him. I also kind of wonder if Peyton might forget where he is and try to get the crowd to be quiet as it will feel somewhat like a home game for him.

This isn't just some QB coming in...this is the guy that built the damn building esstentially...they kinda have to do something, but the timing is not right for a full blown tribute.

Then again, maybe they're trying to get Peyton off his game a little.

Irsay has always been into self promotion. He has always been an ass. If he were a COMPLETE idiot though, he would be trying to manage the team instead of Grigson.

I generally oppose the idea. But I also realize the Indy fans never got to say goodbye to Peyton on the field. I am certain the place with vibrate from the sound of the applause and cheers, and he deserves them.

All I really care about is that we don't shit our pants like we did in San Diego. That is the worst effort by the Colts since Luck came to the team. Not him either. 6 dropped passes. Defensive gaffs galore. Gawd I hope I never see them play another game like that again. Getting beat is one thing. Imitating the Keystone Cops is something else.

great move in my opinion. For everything he did for that city this is the right thing to do. what a classy move by the Colts

I'm going to piggy back this, don't think the fans in Indy have any hate towards him leaving them. Guy did a lot for that franchise and their city, it's right to honor him before the game.

Whats the big deal? I don't get it? Its pregame, has nothing to do with the game at all, just honoring the best player whose ever played for your team.

The big deal is a big question mark.
Is it necessary to honor Peyton now, in a big game for both teams? A useless distraction anyway you slice it. Play the game and the media will take care of the SportsHoopla ... hmm, sounds familiar ...
