Sarcasm my friend.

I think he is a great teammate but the Kings have too many Colin Frasers on the team.

The only reason I would even consider keeping a guy like Nolan is because of his size and because he actually fights. Otherwise he would be next on my list. As useless as Lewis has been, he is a defensive specialist and I would rather the Kings get something for him than just Waive him even though he is offensively useless.

If they are trying to free up some cap space for a move then why not. Its painfully obvious a change has to happen soon.

It'll be interesting to see who else if anyone will also be waived. What might suck is if he passes waivers and is sent down to Manch. If he's picked up on the way up then the Kings would have to pay part of his salary. How's that work in this new CBA btw. They'd pay but it wouldn't count towards the cap?

This wasn't a major cap space move, I think this was to clear up a roster spot.

If he clears he won't be in LA again, he will be in Manchester.

You're thinking Re-Entry Waivers, which has been eliminated under the new CBA. If Fraser gets picked up by another team on the way up, that team is responsible for 100% of his remaining salary. No more shared salary, thanks to the Wade Redden rule.

I honestly believe this is a roster spot opening move. If someone picks up Fraser, awesome. If not, he is assigned to Manchester and it frees up a roster spot. His salary will still count since he is not Waivers exempt, which is my first clue the Kings don't care about the money, it's about the roster. Yes it saves some money, but his prorated $800,000 for 2 weeks off isn't that much to be considered a cost saving move.

I'm expecting a move after the Olympic break for certain now. Fraser will not be back in LA no matter what (for now - he could be recalled later in the season).

Just saw the Kings "recalled" goalie JF Berube from Manchester too, because an NHL team has to carry at least 18 skaters during an Olympic break. So he will be paid two weeks worth of salary ($525,000 annual, RFA this summer) for not even being here, this was strictly a paper transaction.

Adds more to the Fraser situation, the difference between the two salaries ($300,000) prorated over two weeks is minimal where $50,000 isn't going to be a deal breaker for a guy like Gagner or Vanek.

I still think this was a roster spot move no matter what management and staff say - financially this makes very minimal sense, the Kings aren't saving a ton of money to be a factor.

Cleared
Not surprised
Any team that claimed him would have to waive someone else

So he gets to go down and help the Monarchs during the Olympic break and the Kings have an open roster spot in case something is needed for a deal as soon as the ban is lifted. Or maybe Vey or Pearson gets recalled.

All possible options, my belief is it's for a move.

Just saw Calgary is asking for a 1st round pick and B level prospect or a 2nd round pick and an A level prospect for impending UFA Cammalleri.

Not too much in my opinion, and this actually helps the Kings in terms of whoever else is available.

I don't see Cami coming back. I read that the Rangers are really interested in him.

I don't either, but mainly because of the history between he and the Kings. He was always a tough sign whether that be under Taylor or Dumbo, and then arbitration and then being moved on Draft Day 2008 to Calgary. I don't know if either LA or he would be willing to put it under the bridge and move on.

He does have a Limited NTC in this contract, which he has 7 clubs he can not be sent to without his permission. Don't know if LA is one of those clubs, but I wouldn't doubt it.

But he would be the cheapest of what I've seen so far of the bigger names, so either the Kings will send an offer or they will use Calgary's asking price to lower the asking price on some of the other guys.

I like Fraser but he seriously reminds me of the old Kings. Hard worker with lots of heart, but is just seriously lacking in talent (Speed, hands, shot, size, etc.). He maximizes his potential every night, and that is to be respected, but when you compare him on the 4th line to a team like Chicago's 3rd and 4th lines, it isn't even close, and I really felt like the Chicago's bottom 6 beat the Kings up last year (Bickel, Saad etc.).

Have to disagree somewhat with Puck on Nolan, however. That guy makes things happen and I wish he got a little more playing time. He can move pretty well, and is always taking the body, which helps to wear down the opposition. I think Clifford has taken a big step back this year and I would put Nolan ahead of Clifford on the depth chart at this point in time.
