I love watching outdoor games late in the season. But this SNF game perfectly illustrates the problem with having this year's super bowl in New York. It's not so much the temperature as it is the wind (and other potential elements). Can you imagine these types of elements for the Super Bowl?

Both teams put 30+ points up.

Both teams put 30+ points up.

Six combined turnovers. From offenses featuring the two best quarterbacks of our generation. One of those quarterbacks didn't have over 100 yards passing until late in the 4th quarter.

It's a terrible decision that's probably going to give one of the SB teams a competitive advantage at a neutral site.

Defense is most important in these cold, windy games, so maybe our defense could get an advantage in cold weather vs Denver, should it come down to that...........

I bet if you took a survey defining neutral playing field you would get a wide variety of answers.

A 75 degree, sunny day in SD doesn't hurt a pass rusher or a LBer or a RB etc do their job. It's not a disadvantage

A game with 30 mph winds can adversely effect a QBs ability to throw the ball downfield.

Since our QB struggles to throw downfield in 75 degree sunny weather, then the cold and wind should help us.

The problem with that is that the large percentage of those downfield completions came in a three game hot streak.

Not just that, but many of those completions are to wide open players. How many times has AJ been open down the field only to have to wait for the ball to get to him? It's not a measure of accuracy. And heck, Geno Smith is on the list.

Whole lot of bad football played in the snow.

I'm not exactly sure what either team was doing at the end of that Minny/Baltimore game.

It's almost like the defensive teams were all frozen into the ground. A lot of poor tackling all over the league.
