So I was watching the Miss America pageant last night and one of the contestants made an interesting point....nah, just kidding.

Word of advice, be careful what you wish for.
In the mid 80s after watching "Body Heat" I had the hots for Kathleen Turner. That year as I blew out the candles on my birthday cake I jokingly wished to sleep with her. Like most wishes they don't come true and I soon forgot about it. Until last night. When I got home last night there was a message on my machine from a voice so filled with cigarette smoke that I could almost see smoke coming out of the machine itself.
"Hey, its Kathy", the voice said pausing to inhale, "you're up sailor. See you tomorrow".
This is not the way I hoped the weekend would begin.

Rainy dreary day here so its been hard for me to wake up. I am still half asleep. I thought I was posting here for 20 minutes before I discovered I was on the Sports Clips message boards. Its not all bad, I got a coupon for $3 off my next hair cut.

I'm being reviewed for a promotion. Trying not to get my hopes up. It sounds like I'm at the top of the list and there's the potential to get about a 33% raise. This would be awesome.

So, this is looking like a sure thing. But still awaiting my offer. May have this all wrapped up in a few weeks.

I got the gig. Ended up being a 28% raise with a 5-10% bonus incentive if I reach all of my yearly objectives. I start 10/13. The drive is going to be awful for the first 6-8 weeks (about a 1h20m drive) as I can't relocate until December. However, I successfully negotiated mileage reimbursement until I relocate, so I get .54 a mile (45.9 miles one way), so that's a nice treat for the time being.

Not going to be an easy year coming up though. The previous site manager really fucked this account up by not getting any cost savings at all whatsoever. But that just means more opportunity for me to get in there and turn shit around.

It's still in CT, it's just that it's the friggin' nothwest tip of the state that touches MA (Canaan, CT). It's all backroads to get to that area. Winter should be fun.
