I am so excited for today being Pi Day!

But I don't have a pie... I usually bake one, but I've been pulling 12-14 hour days lately and didn't have time. I'll just have to find a place nearby which sells delicious, fresh-baked pies.

But in the meanwhile, I think I'll just do science to celebrate! :nerd:

PK has worn this hat a few times in interviews. I like it and have looked for it but cannot find it for sale. If anyone sees it online for sale could you please give me a heads up?

After lunch around 3 when all is quiet I am going to stand up in my cubicle and shout:

He said shut up he said shut up
oh God can't you keep it down!

I gave up coffee for lent this year. I have since decided that was a stupid idea.

It may have been however maybe not. Years ago I gave up coffee because I thought it was upsetting my stomach. After stopping for a couple months the first few I had were wonderful and had me feeling fantastic.

Its not really my job but I was volunteered into verifying setups on some laptops some consultants are given to use. I dont mind, its a nice break and the woman who picks them up from me is pretty so its a win win. In addition to verifying software is installed and creating desktop shortcuts (really) I think I might take initiative and choose desktop wallpapers for each of them.

Twitter and Facebook do a thing on Thursdays called Throw Back Thursdays. That had me thinking of when I was a kid how I would watch a show called "Romper Room". My mother had not gone back to work yet after having me so it was just me and her in the house and she would often make me English Muffins when I watched. It was a nice time, I felt contented, loved and safe - a combination I find it harder to feel as I get older.

The show itself was games and songs, nice safe stuff meant for little kids. It was OK but the part I waited for was the end when Miss Sally would look into her "magic mirror" where she could 'see' the kids that were watching and say a few of their names. Oh how I wanted her to call my name. My name is not rare, and its more common now, but its not super common so I never expected her to 'see' me and call my name often but I figured it could happen at least once. Just once please. But it never did. Never. They called Travis and Flynn and Perry and even a Winchester. A fucking Winchester, as a first name? Even as a kid I realized that was just a fuck you meant just for me. She never called my name and how I watched and watched and waited. That's all I wanted a smile and her to 'see' me and say my name. But she didn't.

I got over it, at least I thought so. Years later I dated a Sally for a little while. Things were going great until a young neighbor of hers called her Miss Sally in presence and it all came flooding back. I yelled at her and ran zig zaggedly off never to see her again.

In the future as they drag me shackled, kicking and screaming from some horrible crime scene that will give even the most seasoned of detectives nightmares for months I bet that's what I screaming, "She never called my name! She never called my name".

Oh well, nice memories. Happy throw back Thursday. #tbt #thevoicesareback

I dont think there is a general TV thread so I will post this here. Has anyone seen Orphan Black? We were bored the other night and watched an episode because we heard it was good. So far we have only seen the first 4, and it is good, but the actress is fantastic.

Mmmm... black coffee.

Purchased some more kettlebells and a steel mace today. I'm all done going to gyms. Running and unconventional weight training going forward.
