I think the role of Gandalf was offered to Sean Connery but he turned it down. He also turned down the role of Morpheus in The Matrix.

yeah I heard that about Gandalf but never saw any confirmation on it from JAckson. that would have been different.

yes they offered it to him and he turned it down, it was also offered and GIVEN to Stuart Townsend and he actually filmed part of Fellowship but Peter Jackson felt he was too young for the role so it was given to Viggo

Wow. I can't believe Cage would turn that role down. But I'm so glad it ultimately ended up Viggo's, because I can't picture anyone else doing it.

Check out "Not Just Words", it is a more accesible track for them... If you dig that, then check out "The Spell" or "Tangled", he has so much emotion in his singing in those last two tracks, but they are a little odd to poeple who listen to more commercialized music, which you dont.

So just check 'em out again dammit.
