Yeah, we've pretty much taken to anything with a high sugar content.

thats what i never understood for the longest time ... the overwhelming love of all things sugar but you would go to an american resto and order an ice tea and you got something that could have doubled for dishwater

maybe its just a southern US thing?

my inlaws had a guy they used to do business with from Texas and he'd come up here and go to grocery stores and stock up on cannisters of powdered ice tea

I grew up on powdered ice tea (Lipton). When I moved south, people talked about "sweet tea" as if it was some brand-spanking-new southern invention.

Any tea with sugar in it is disgusting.

Yup. Do you guys have that weird ball tea where you live?

do you mean dragonball tea?

if so, that tends to be pretty yummy.
it's just the tea leaves rolled up.

I mean bubble tea. It has little balls of something in it.

Tapioca balls... bubble tea, aka "boba"... it's an Asian thing (was a big fad a few years back, slowing down a bit now) so I assume Vancouver has it, yeah.

Tapioca! That's it! Thanks rates. Bubble tea is still really popular here. I'm not a fan.

Yeah, the boba tea fad has been replaced with teh frozen yogurt fad a couple years ago here in SoCal... but there's still enough of the stores around (especially in the Asian communities) for those who want to get some!

oh, yeah. My wife and I go through a shit load of that. I get them without pearls, though.
I think it started out as a Taiwanese thing before the Japanese took hold and ran with it.

there are a lot of them up here, but only a few really good ones.
